Is Ashwin a better offie India has got at present...i'm purely going by his T20 form in IPL and CL and he was a better bowler than harbhajan...and on this performance he has made into the Indian ODI team...he surely will make his debut in this ODI series...but again he is a better prospect than harbhajan...off late harbhajan has lost his sting which can be seen in his performance...what do you have to say...

It's very difficult to compare the two off spiners. Both have a completely different style of bowling. Harbhajan beats the batsman by the loop and bounce whereas Ashwin is a more a line and length bowler. If you compare records Harbhajan is far ahead of Ashwin. Out late Harbhajan performance in ODI's and T20 is not very good while Ashwin has given many good performances. I will say in Test Harbhajan is better bowler but in ODI & T20, Ashwin is slightly ahead of Harbhajan.

It is too early to comment on this just yet. I would say that we need to see Ashwin play for some games. The key test for Ashwin will start after that when the opponents would get time to analyze the way he bowls and prepare accordingly. For most good bowlers that is the difference between being good and being great. So let's wait and watch before we even start comparing. Cheers! Ram

Hi, I think Ashwin is a god bowler. He is very effective in T20.I also agree that he is a better bowler than Harbhajan in T20.But in test and ODI the bowler might struggle in his first few matches. In a T20 match,a batsman will be going for shots. If he makes mistakes, then the bowler gets a wicket. But in other formats, the batsmen won't be going for too many shots except in the Power Play.We need to test Ashwin in other formats also.Let's see whether he succeeds over Harbhajan.
