after 3 years my mother decided to get therapy. she is paralyze for more than 3 years and refused to get therapy before. we always explained to her the purpose of the therapy but she still refuse to get one. now out of the blue she decided to get therapy. but as we reach the therapist clinic after some checks he had explained that the therapy might no longer be effective for the reason that her bones are protracted already. still my mother wanted to give it a try. the doctor also informed us that this will be much painful. i still have faith in this no matter what the doctor says i still hold to faith and hope. i still believe that if my mother puts her heart and all into this then i know she will be better.

I am glad your mom decided to get some therapy. I am still trying to get some for my son. It's included in the program he's on but there are none near here. It's just crazy. So I enrolled online and took a short topical course of physical therapy so I could help him. Hopefully your mom's joints are not contractures!

i am not sure if my mothers joints are contractured, she was normal before and was paralyze because of high blood pressure and high blood sugar. they are putting a little electricity, and they also have massages and walking exercise. so we all wish the best. you are one loving mother hats down to you on doing your part and not just letting the therapist do it all. thanks a lot for the response.

Personally I feel there is little chance of your mom becoming better…why didn’t she go for this before! Paralysis is about nerves and as we all know, nerve cells do not regenerate hence a person suffering from paralysis has very little chance of ever recovering. Even then, if the treatment is started immediately, then some sensation can be brought back to the nerves and the person might regain some control over the affected body parts. However, faith in God is the supreme strength we humans can draw upon and I truly wish you mother becomes well again.

we tried to explain to her all about the therapy on the early days of the attack, but she refused it. we even hired a home service therapy but every time the therapy arrives she just ignored it. the only person who knows what the reasons are is my mother, and the only person who knows the real reason why she wanted it now is she alone. for us we are still happy that she tried, when you love a person you just want to give everything for her and for us this is a dream come true. i know the chance is little but i am still happy that she gave it a go. thanks a lot for the response.

hni se7enthbird I am with you too and I am wishing I could get therapy for my badly misshapen foot as I have been doomed for years to wear a built in heavy steel brace on my left leg. all because a doctor'was a quack. He said sprained ankle and when I finally got' referred to a foot specialist he said it was a ruptured tendon and was' too long then so could not be repaired. I think he would have said we can repair it if I had been fifty not 75 years old.But I am all for you getting your mom to try it as perhaps the doctors could be wrong and the therapists might be right too.I think maybe your are right and I would bet your mom will really try to do this. I sure hope it does succeed for her. Us older ones do not like to be all crippled up. good luck and God bless. I will send my prayers to you both to help your mom get some really good benefits and be able to walk again.

that is what i am feeling, doctors maybe wrong. it all depends now how patient will my mother be and how well she can cooperate with the people that is willing to help her. i still pray for the better for this is all we wanted for her, to atleast try to get a help from the therapist. it is a dream come true for me and my siblings. thank you very much for the prayers.

That's great news! I hope that her therapy goes well. It will be hard work but it will be worth it for her.
