You can say that he/she is your first love when that person makes you feel something that you can't understand.

Yes. It's true. When you feel something different on that person, it says that you have a special feelings on him/her. Sometimes you can't understand what you feel when you saw him/her---you feel nervous,excited or what you called a "mixed feelings or emotions".

Yes! i agree with you,i had a first love since i was an elementary student, there is something i couldn't explain, on what's my feelings on.all i know is that i am actually in love with him.
