Do you choose the person to whom you're gonna learn your bible from? I study the bible online and I'm enjoying it. I didn't encounter any problems since everything became clear to me after studying through the net. One of my students though was invited by a person she rarely knew and they studied the bible together which somehow confused her. I told her to pray so that she can decide what to do. Then she mentioned this with the daughter of her pastor's church and the daughter told her that she might be deceived if she doesn't choose the right person to study with. She claimed that my student might be learning a heresy and not the truth. How about you? Does it concern you whom to study the bible with?

Yes, I think you need to be very careful who you study with or under. There are many heresies that are hard to recognize and there are people teaching who don't understand the Bible themselves. I study at home, under the direction of God Himself, but I do listen to various preachers and teachers. I have heard some that didn't seem right and some that did. I think if we rely on God to lead us to the right people, we don't have to worry, but we have to listen very closely to what He says.

Exactly what I told my student. I told her that the best way to know if you're studying with the right person is prayer. I told her that in every decision she makes it should be with God's guidance because God never make mistakes.

I tried some learning under others but some things didn't seem to me to ring true, then I started my now long held habit of studying on my own with just prayer and God's spirit to lead me and actually, I've had my socks knocked off quite a few times!!! All I can say about the gospel, the "good news" the bible truth, is WOW! Most to me seem to under estimate God and the gospel. Since God can only be Perfect, the 'end' result of all this (human history, etc) can only be the best one possible and the best one imaginable, nothing else is even possible, nor biblical, though some is hidden to man's eyes for now. 1Tim 4;10

YES. You have to discern very well. Test the spirit, because I agree with what the daughter of the pastor said, you can be deceived. You are putting your soul at stake, Be very carefull with it. Pray for God's guidance.

The best teacher is God. If you pray to Him, ask him for clearance, understanding and help and you also believe him with all your faith you're able to give him, He will provide you all understanding and help. At the moment, I read and study the Bible alone at home. But I also like to study on Internet. Some years ago I also studied with the help of Jehovas Whitnesses which was very great, interesting and helpfull. God always provides you with help and understanding through the right person when you need it.

I agree with you that's why I studied through the internet too and I pray for guidance before every study. But for a beginner who is very eager to learn the bible, God won't do much. That beginner needed someone tangible. That's why my student is really troubled about this. So I a concrete answer to the question. Thanks for sharing though.

Of course you have to choose the ones you're going to study your Bible with. But that depends if you're going to teach about the Bible to others or you are going to study with someone knowledgeable than you.
