Ever wonder about your neighbors?

Do you ever wonder what your neighbors are up to? I have an older couple that lives next door to us in a low income apartment complex. I hear all kinds of weird noises coming from next door. I hear squeaky(no not that!)and these weird screeches at all hours. I know where your minds may be going but the man is dying of cancer. Yet these noises are like they are playing or like he is in some kind of pain. Do you have weird neighbors that make weird noises or do weird things?

The guy below me is being evicted because he plays his music so loud at all hours of the day and night. We also hear his door slam as it's lighter than it looks so people close it too hard, and there are periodically these loud bangs that shake the building as if a large piece of furniture has fallen over. And to top it all off he's a drummer so we sometimes hear him playing a drum kit louder than he has to to just practice. I wonder if your neighbours have some kind of machine to help lift the man out of bed if he's ill and that's what the squeaking is. And the screeching could just be because he's in pain like you said.

It is strange to me how weird people are. If your neighbor had any concern or respect for others he would tone it down. And, you'd think he would try to keep his place by playing by the rules. Odd how people can be so self obsorbed. And, as far as my neighbor is concerned maybe they do have some sort of machinery to lift him. They are a rather large family. The noises aren't like painful but more party like. Maybe the times when he is feeling alittle better and they can enjoy one another. Ugh!

My upstairs neighbour makes weird thumping noises all the time. It sounds like something wooden is hitting the floor repeatedly. Not in the same spot. It sounds like the thumping is moving from one end of the room to the other, over and over again. It doesn't sound like it could be a cane used for walking, since the thumping is too fast for that. (I figure someone who uses a cane would walk slower.) Even if it was the sound of a cane (or clogs), why would they keep walking back and forth like that? So yeah, I do wonder what they're up to.

Maybe it is one of those games with Wii that you use your body to move the players around.

Hm, didn't think of that. Most of my neighbours are pretty old so it didn't occur to me that the ones upstairs could be someone playing a Wii game.

I pretty well stick to myself, but we have one neighbor in this block that do not speak to anyone. The rest of us at least say Hi, and share favors and greetings. We do not live close enough to hear noises unless they are outside.

Some people are just alittle odd and I am always alittle curious.

Hi Celtic, Thankfully my apartment is pretty sound proof. Sometimes I hear music next door but it's not too bad at all. On the weekends it gets a little crazy around here with all the partying and all. I just keep to myself and ignore them. They don't bother me. As for your neighbor I'm guessing that he must be in pain if he has cancer. He is probably on some pretty strong meds as well.

That is fortunate. The noises aren't machinery or screams of pain. Squeaks probably from a bed. Noises more like partying and game playing. Weird.

My neighbors are pretty quiet and we visit with one another outside but for the most part we stay to ourselves. I never really have to wonder about them. I would freak out if I started hearing stuff from them.

You're lucky. I live in a low income apartment complex with my daughter and we have all types here. From foreign to medical. It can be fun.

I don't think I have weird neighbors but the family that lives next door are A**holes! We have lived in our new house for about 4 months and they have called the cops on us 4 times! RIDICULOUS!!! Yes we are young and have had a couple parties but we weren't obnoxiously loud. They are just rude and when they are outside the same time we are they glare at us and just stare. I can't stand our neighbors

Did you invite any of your neighbors over to any of your parties? Some older folks just immediately have a problem with younger ones. And sometimes the oppositie is true. SOme people are just really not easy to get along with or to get to know. Others are very friendly and very nice and even helpful. Humans are basically a weird lot. SOme you can totally understand and live with. Others are weird and very hard to understand.

You said your neighbor is sick. The noises you hear may be coming from machines he needs for life support type things. I know some of the machines my dad my on made all kinds of noises. They were loud too. I don't usually wonder about my neighbors except a couple of nights ago all of a sudden I started hearing hammering. It was about 8pm and it went on until almost 10 or 11 pm. Now I usually don't bother about noises at night. But come on people the noise ordinance says no loud noises after 9pm. The problem here is I'm in the country and sound carries very well. The hammering sounded like it was right outside my bedroom windows.

Oh, I don't either. Until you have lived in a low income apartment complex like this I don't think you really see the abnormal side of things as much. People with all manner of problems and kids that are so obnoxious and crude you wouldn't believe it. We have had some of the weirdest neighbors. A lady that called the cops on her husband one night. He was just coming from work and she was paranoid. That was the least weird. It goes on and on. These neighbors now are weird. I think that the squeaking is from their bed right next to my wall. The yelling and such is not like in pain. Weird I tell you. No machine noices.

My girlfriend has some senior neighbours above her that move furniture at 3 AM... I have some neighbours, husband and wife, who, when involved in an "argument" (aka "a fight") start shouting like they are being stabbed (the wife sounds like a banshee actually). Other than that my neighbours are pretty normal. Maybe I am the weird one...

My neighbors are always building things or tweaking some kind of engine. They have more buildings than you would believe. They also have all the toys. Dirt bikes, atvs, snow mobiles, you name it, they've got it.

I used to have weird neighbours. Which is why I took so great care in locating my new place. In the country. The most I can hear now is when my neighbour mows his/her lawns. It is a beautiful thing.

No, I don't have any neighbors like this, myself. This is kind of weird, though. I have neighbors but we're not really that close. I plan to make some pictures of my property and post them on here one of these days and you will see about how far apart my neighbors and I are. One of my neighbors has dogs and I hear them barking occasionally but that's about it.

Its sad that he's dying of cancer. Must be awful for his wife caring for him. I live in a house, so I have no idea what goes on next door and to be honest, I dont really care. I always have the tv on or music, so even when I used to live in an apartment, I never heard the noises from the next door neighbors. You might ask them if they need help and then you'll know what they're up to if you really want to know hehe!!

I guess some people just don't have a curious nature. I nursed both my parents when they had cancer. Not really into doing it anymore. We visit and my grandson goes over occasionally to play video games with older kids. Ya, hehe on the really wanting to know. You don't really go into neighbors bedrooms. Not this girl anyway.

hmmm...in our village i never wondered about our neighbors because most of them are gossipers and just stay outside their houses approaching you where you will go or where you came from.

Nothing can be as weird as our neighbors! I have never ever seen them smile, I think even inside their home. They're also a very scandalous lot, we often hear them shouting and cursing even in the middle of the night, we even hear like pounding walls and even noise from I think it's a welding machine. Up till now we really do not know what they're really up too. From what I have observed, one of the kids is a mongoloid, and the one who does the welding, I guess, seems autistic to me. Do you think these may be the reasons for their behavior and their seeming aloofness from the society?

That could very well be. With fatigue and feeling ostricized before they have even had a chance to explain their situation to people. I can see why they didn't smile and weren't real happy. What a life!
