I think I'd rather live high up in the mountains, I've been up in the mountains and its beautiful. I've never been to the ocean so I don't know what its like, it would probably be too much water for me, I can't swim and alot of water scares me..lol.

If I didn't know how to swim I wouldn't want to live by the ocean either. It scares me enough already. Its so vast and large.

I would prefer to live by an ocean. I love water and also love to swim. Just laying on the beach in the sun is so relaxing. I also love to people watch and the beach is a good place to hang out and see what's happening. Many years ago I was a swimming instructor so water has always been a big interest. Have only driven through the mountains but never vacationed or visited a resort in the mountains.

As long as I am in the desert I would rather live at the base of the mountains within a pleasant hour's drive of the ocean. It was a hard choice, but that is where I am living now and I am happy here. This year for the first time I got to visit both US oceans within a month or so of each other. I prefer the Pacific for living but the Atlantic was nice to visit. I drove up to the Central Coast last week and am heading down to the southern beaches when I get back from Arizona. This year I have not stayed home much. Thamkfully, there is a wonderful neighbor who takes care of my garden while I am gone.

WOW.! I envy you! I only go near the ocean and on mountains when having a vaction (2x a year) I wanna LIVE in any of those too. But I just can't. I live in the middle of a city here in the Philippines. But in the future, I think I wanna live first near the ocean, and later on high up in the mountains.

I thought that the philippines were islands. Doesn't that mean that you are not far from the ocean? How long would it take you to get to the mountains?

I am already living near the mountains since 9 years old so i would like to live near the ocean in time so i can enjoy the water. I want to experience how it feels to live by the ocean or sea or lake or whatever near water.

I wouldn't be happy living far from the ocean. I like to live within one hours drive to the sea. Currently I am living in a coastal town in a quiet close just three miles from the beach. Swimming isn't possible at mu local beaches due to a dangerous tide and sinking mud. The pier has opened its doors again after its re-building over the last two years. There are stunning coastal views. My disabled toddler son needs wheelchair access and flat grounds are better than pushing it in the mountainous regions where there are lots of hills. I like peace and quiet but need the sea nearby too.

I love the water so it would have to be the ocean, but the perfect place would be the mountains with a nice lake were you can swim in.
