Oh for crying out loud! Why would a person with Autism be a danger to society? This is ignorance! Educate yourself.

Well as do I. And my opinion as a mother of an Autistic child thinks, a question like that is ignorant. Never said you were ignorant. Sorry if you took it the wrong way. Maybe be more open in your discussion next time & explain to us readers.

Excuse me! I have an autistic child and am just curious what others think. Recently when my child was having a major melt-down in a store, someone walked up to me and said "this is why children like yours should be institutionalized". That was ignorant; my post was not.

Of course not! My friend Ari Neman has autism and serves on a board appointed by Obama. I don't think any person with any disability is dangerous, as a rule to society, it's a bunch of over hype. I spend time with more people with disabilities than you ever will and one ever hurt me.

Thank you for your feedback. Living with a severely autistic child daily, I spend a whole lot of time with children with special needs. I agree with you that no person with a disability is dangerous.

No, I don't think people with autism are generally dangerous. Many people with autism can do many "normal" things and function in society, especially once they get older, and especially if they have had kind and patient parents and teachers. Some will need assistance their whole lives because of communication or social problems, but very few are violent. There has only been one autistic person I thought might have been dangerous, and that was because he was a 6'4", muscular, 250 lb man who threw temper tantrums like a 2 year old. I did worry about what would happen if he hit someone during one of his rages, as he wasn't capable of understanding the consequences. But to assume someone is dangerous just because they are different is ignorant.
