How many megapixels does your camera have?

Mine has 6. As I was searching for a new camera online, I found out that there's already a 14.1 megapixel camera. Oh, wow. I guess my camera is outdated, lol. 
I'm comparing a Sony camera to a Samsung camera. Any ideas which is better? Let me know. Thanks!

Pixel count in a camera doesn't mean everything. So a photo produced by a camera depends on the lenses quality, sensor quality, sensor size, and the photo post processing processor. If you are choosing between Sony and Samsung cameras, I will probably recommend you Sony's. Honestly, Samsung cameras is no match for Sony cameras. Sony camera has their Exmor Sensor which is great. It let the user to take nice photos even under low light condition, without flash. It also seldom take blurred images even your hands shake. I am using Sony WX1, which is great for me for a point and shoot camera. You should looking into Canon Ixus or Powershot series, they make good cameras too. Good luck~ (=

Sony Sensors are very good. As well as Canons. But don't count out olympus, and maybe Pentax. Also, Nikon as well.

Megapixel counts aren't the gauge on how good the camera is. Check out the features first. And how you handle with that camera. Megapixels are only needed if you want to print big big posters of those pictures you have took.

I am using a sony cyber shot DSC w-310 with 12.1 mp. It's pretty cheap for its quality! Bought it for less than $200 a few months ago.

my nikon has 14.1 .... for your hoby 6,8,12 or 14.8 no problem keep shoot.

My camera is 8 megapixel, but i have been looking into others. I prefer samsung cameras myself but that may be because my last 2 cameras were that brand and they have been very good cameras. My 8 megapixel camera is a good one with good features, but as you said there are ones out now that are alot higher in pixels.

My old phone had a 9megapixel camrea, and my dads camrea has a 27megapixels i think :s it was really expencive. but now my phone has 4megapixels but i dont use it much anyways...
