Forgiving Mistakes

Today somebody told me that I was childish and boring. It was just out of the blue. He was complaining about college life and I told him to hang in there because he's going to graduate soon. And then he just told me to grow up! He said sometimes I'm not fun at all and I'm too boring. I was really hurt because I was trying my best to cheer him up. Now he's blaming me and asking me why I was ignoring him. He said he was just kidding. But it was a very offensive joke and we were talking seriously. How could he joke in that kind of situation? Will you forgive someone like this?

I guess it depends on the kind of relationship you have with this person to whether or not you could forgive them.

Who was that kid again? He was from Pakistan but studying in London and was always seeking my advice on something. I wonder if he has graduated already...hmmm I blocked him.

@kevin1877uk Yes it was. After blocking him, he made a new account and then searched for me everywhere. It was scary.

i don't know what he expected you to say when he complained about his college life. You gave him a very positive response, there was nothing boring or childish about it. . Even if he was joking around, his remarks were totally uncalled for. if he is in the habit of making remarks like this out of the blue, i would think twice about helping or advising him in any way.

Depends on where we were at with the friendship to begin with. See an old friend can joke this way and although a bit hurtful we know their ways and well are forgiving. My suggestion though speak to this person about how his comment made you feel. Make sure you express your true feelings and see what the response is thereafter, everyone in friend relationships deserves a second chance but certainly not a third.

Indeed he is a very moody person. He'd get mood swings all the time and I couldn't keep up with it anymore. But today he begged me for forgiveness and he said he'll try his best not to hurt me anymore. He said he'll TRY!
