Do you like Pesto?

November 4, 2010 10:29pm CST
I tried pesto in one training that i have attended. And it taste really bad and i can't eat their herb like it is half cook and dry. That time im so hungry so i have no choice but to eat them all. Plus a very natural herb again for beverage. Feel so bad that night and i want to throw all of it. But when we visited a meal near our house there's a ready to go store selling Pesto and i buy the Tuna pesto which is really smell delicious and i'm satisfied. Very satisfied on my order plus delicious chocolate shake. How about you?

i hate pesto. i don't like eating foods that has too much herb in it. i know that it's healthy, but i don't like eating them. my brother loves it so much though, that when he cooks pasta, he always makes pesto. when he does, i try to find something else to eat. :)

i don't like too much meat on my pasta either. i guess i'm just really picky when it comes to my food. :)

My best friend when i was in college. She is so picky in any food. She dont like pasta especially spaghetti according to her it looks like worm. She cant eat much. She only eat what she like. If not she would just go to bed and read her books. That's why she is so skinny. Really thin girl.

When you only eat meat may be that's why you hate pesto with herb. There's really an after taste if you eat them. But really smells good depend on how your brother prepare it. We have our own taste and in my case i ate a lot and not really choosy on food. But sometimes if i smell the smoked fish it make me feel bad. I dont like the smell. But when im on the mood to eat them i ate a lot of it.

Its great to talk to you who is really living in Italy. Can you teach me how to cook that pesto dish? I just tasted that pasta in a restaurant and i think i din't know if i will cook as like what i tasted. Afraid if i can do the same. Cooking is like playing. When we are just a little there was a time that were playing as if really cooking. Very interesting dish and its not easy at all.

I love pesto and since they were very small it was the favorite dish for my chidren and then grandchildren. I don´t cook at all the basil. I just wash it and dry it and place it in a blender with garlic and lots of olive oil. I don´t evwen use salt as that changes it´s taste when it is frozen and I make enough for the whole year. I have never had tuna pesto but I either gring some nuts when I serve it or I just serve it with Reggianito cheese.

Sounds really good. I hope that I can also taste and see it how you prepare for it. I never tried to make it on my own while we're at home. We often eat it in the mall and we are afraid on how it taste like when we will prepare it. Its so hard to think and got the good recipe until we try to do it. But at this time I don't want to cook it. Still want to know more about it. Good day! God bless!

How I love to eat Tuna Pesto, I'm craving for that and it smells good specially with nuts together with the olive oil..

So delicious! I can imagine to smell it right now. Smells so yummy. I want to eat more of that. When i visited a place preparing that i can take it but to eat them even in two servings. Not typical taste of pasta but tuna are so juicy. In linguine pasta and fresh chocolate shake. Perfect for snack or dinner. I want to eat this later.

I am a chef and all summer had to do it.On first place I don`t like his smell and flavour. Also on taste is terrible (for me).But the wierd thing is that all guests likes it so much.So..... it must be good for everyone, just not for me ....... :)
8 Nov 10
Weird that your customer really like your recipe even if you dont like pesto. Dont dont even know that their chef hate pesto. I think for me its so delicious. Herb in a pasta with tuna is my favorite. So yummy! i want to taste all other recipe of pesto.
8 Nov 10
I would say it`s a taste question.Everyone has own taste.I don`t like it but this doesn`t mean that I hate to prepare it.And I am really glad when I see my costumers happy! That`s the most important thing in my work.
11 Nov 10
I cant imagine who you prepare those food if you dont like them? While cooking is it true that you never tasted all your recipe? What if it taste salty or what? Or you just can take it if you eat them a lot? Just a question on my mind. May be as a chef yo can cook food even if you not tasted it. But for me as a beginner i tasted them a lot to make the taste really good.

Tuna pesto? I should try that. It sounds great! The ultimate healthy pasta I might say. Where did you buy that?
15 Feb 11
In the mall. I just want to try it at first and then I started to like it. It taste really different from the others and its good. Tuna is additional flavor to the pasta and a good combination I think. You really must try it for a change. We love pasta but trying to make it here at home. Its a perfect pasta and the best of them all. Good day! God bless!

when i was young the only pasta i know was spaghetti and macaroni it was also cook the same way. my mother cook spaghetti with meat balls and sauce and sometimes she cook macaroni with the same sauce. when i met my wife she loves to cook and that was the time when i was introduced in the world of pasta. carbonara, Puttanesca, pesto, seafood, chili sauce, lasagna and many more. since i am a picky eater and i only eat food that i am used to eating what she was serving was not easy for me. then i learn to appreciate different pasta and different food as well. i feel lucky that i am married to a very good cook. meals are not boring.
6 Nov 10
Your so lucky to have her in your life. I want to be like her and there was a time that i always cooked carbonara and spaghetti for my boyfriend. Cooking is not really my passion but i want to learn more about it for him. Never tried that Puttanesca. When you always eat meat its hard to shift Italian dish and into veggies. I realize that people loves to eat. This time what i only knew in Spaghetti and carbonara. Next time i will try that pesto.

I LOVE pesto !! When I have pesto in the house, I put it on nearly everything. Pasta, toast, eggs, salad, bread, rice, meat, etc... Pretty much everything that I cook I put pesto on. I love the taste of the parmesan cheese, the pine nuts, the olive oil, the basil. I'm starting to crave it now just for talking about it.
6 Nov 10
WOooooow!!!! Parmesan cheese i like it with pizza or in the Charlie Chan pasta of Yellowcab. Your so creative in terms of cooking. Can't imagine that your using it differently. If you really know how to cook that pesto its so easy to make a twist and make new recipe. I love eating salad but only Caesar salad, also the vinaigrette salad. So simple and i want that veggies all the time.

i hate pesto... in my coutry, Romania, we eat, pork... So, in my country we eat meat, no pastes
6 Nov 10
Still i think there's a restaurant near your place offering Italian food. Just try it! You can relate on what we are talking about here. Its really a good dish you must to try. Here in out country we love to eat sweet dish. Not really, usually always meat but we live in more of veggies. This is the first time that i knew that in Romania you are more fanatic in meat. All of your dish are made up in meat. I think its so far from ASIA.

The first time I was served this, I instantly did not like the look and the taste of it. It looked like poo to me and the taste was hard to say. In short I did not understand the food, so I did not touch it and would not touch one in the future.
6 Nov 10
Your so funny! May be you cook the pesto in just following the instruction from the book. Well, This time pesto is one of the best and my favorite pasta. Next time try to taste the Tuna pesto just what i mentioned its so good. Your not so lucky in cooking it but i think you should try it gain. Try to cook it gain. Cooking is like trial and error. Just be creative and put lots of Tuna. Not really fresh tuna, try the canned tuna.

I guess it's just dependent on the taste and preferences of every individual. Maybe it's a part of cultural differences.
6 Nov 10
I agree! Some people really don't like vegetables. That's why there's a lot of variety to choose from. I think you dont like pesto. And if you like it too. You just understand other opinion and choice.

I absolutely love pesto when mixed into a pasta dish. Yes, pesto would definitely taste the best when combined with tuna, or chicken or other seafood. Pesto is really not for a main dish. It is more like a sauce seasoning to perk up the taste of meat or seafood.
6 Nov 10
I never tried that Pesto in Chicken or seafood. Only that Tuna pesto and is taste really really good. Every time i have a chance to buy there and eat that pasta. So delicious and tastier than spaghetti and carbonara. There's a lot of resto but this time i want to taste their pesto as my new favorite food.

Pesto is my favorite from the first time I tasted it. But I have friends who commented similarly like you. What I have understood was my friends don't really like foods with a strong herbs taste. Probably, the Pesto that my friends ate was taken in an Italian restaurant, which definitely they served an authentic recipe with quality, while maybe if we bought a food in a ready to go store or convenient store like 7-eleven, it's only a standard recipe with a lighter herbs taste
6 Nov 10
What i am saying ready to go store is not just like 7-eleven. Its a kiosk which they have to cook that pasta in front of you and you will just wait for your order then its so delicious. The smell, taste and just a little tuna but its all right. Very affordable. May be in my first time to taste that Pesto. They just made the pasta not really good at that time. But why is that when i tasted that in a kiosk its so delicious? May be their recipe and mixture are the best. They cooked the pesto as it best.

I have no idea about that. Because we usually eat rice in my country
6 Nov 10
Really? Wew. Well its Italian food i think. Pasta came from Italy. And we are talking about Pesto other version of Spaghetti if you know that. Just try to search what its seem. Its color green with fresh herb and olive oil. Try to eat that when you have a chance to visit restaurant offering pasta especially the Pesto.

I love pesto! The mix of olive oil and pine nuts that are really good for you. It's unfortunate that you had a bad experience. It does depend on how it's made and it seems like that person didn't know how to make it.
6 Nov 10
In this place where i can buy the ready to go pesto they are using canola oil. Which is good for our health and a very delicious sauce of pesto. And taste so yummy! I never tried to order a pesto in the restaurant because of that experience. But now that i heard from you that it depends to the restaurant. I decided to try that one. I never tasted that pine nuts too. And i will try my best to learn how to cook that pesto her in our house.
