Is the time change mentally throwing you off?

In the United States at least, we're experiencing Daylight savings time this weekend. So we had to set the clock back over the weekend an hour. Of course, just because we set our physical clocks back, the mental clocks are not working as they should be. So they are still an hour ahead. Do you find yourself being thrown off every time you have to set the clock back and it takes a while to adjust?

i've only experienced DST once. when i was on vacation in my auntie's house in hawaii. here in the philippines, we don't observe it. so when i was there, it got me confused. i think that if i would experience it for a longer time, it would get me mentally thrown off as well.

I can see how never experiencing it can throw someone off when they experience it the first time. Heck, its even hard experiencing it for the first time, when we do in fact experience it. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

the time change tends to throw everything off i think! in saskatchewan, here in canada, they dont change the time at all, which i think is such a smart idea!

It might as well be a smart idea. Of course, the problem is actually getting someone who is in charge to go for not switching it. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

I did have a bit of a hard time yesterday with that. It did throw me off a little bit yesterday. There were times when it really just felt that it should have been later than it really was.

Yeah it sure did. There were times where I had to have small snacks because I was hungry at the time that I normally would eat for instance, but it was not that time yet. Hopefully I get back on track during the next few days. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

All the years that I have dealt with daylight savings time it always through my body clock off. I would adjust within a weeks time usually. Now living in Puerto Rico I don't have to deal with that because they don't change their clocks here. I do have to adjust to TV time changes though because now all my primetime shows are on an hour later. Which I find very strange. Last night I was up to midnight watching Deperate Housewives and Brothers and Sisters. DH started at 10pm and B&S started at 11pm.

That is a good point. Even if you are in those places that don't, the television that does air from the places that do, you need to deal with that. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

yes, I get thrown off every time we switch the clocks--this morning I woke up an hour earlier than I needed to, and last night I was so tired and it was only 9:30 pm! I find the older I get, the more these time changes affect me. I like the idea of daylight savings for many reasons, and I wish we would just make the switch and then leave it alone all year round. And now that we keep tinkering with the dates that we set the clocks ahead/back, I think it's even worse! But I like the extra hour of daylight, so I will take it for as long as I can get it.

The extra hour of daylight is nice indeed. Of course, the getting up earlier and getting tired earlier, yeah when we're on a certain schedule, my body wakes up when it is ready. Not what time it is. This morning was a bit better but yesterday was hectic. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.
