How is it when i get in a car accident that is clearly not my fault my insurance rates still go up, it just really shocks me how insurances companies can get away with such high way robbery. Does anyone else have this problem? do you have any experiences you would like to share?, Thanks for sharing friends ;)

Oh gosh yes, my boyfriends car was hit while it was peacefully parked beside our house, by a bus driver who clearly did not determine the space and side swiped it from front to back. Since our car was legally parked and minding it's own business we had no reason to think we would battle with the bus companies insurance. Well to our amazement we had to hire an attorney and almost went to small claims court, as it was already 4 months and the darn insurance kept giving excuses about investigating. Long story short we went through a great deal of inconvenience but in the end defeated the insurance, but only because I got so upset I made all the steps to sue. All I could think of was how many other people perhaps gave up and took care of it on their own, as clearly this is what the insurance was aiming for.

I don't think all insurance does that but if yours do, then it's time to browse for different company I remember reading an insurance saying they will increase rate only in certain conditions, so even if it's your fault (for example) they won't increase the rate unless it goes over certain amount
