Places to visit in Srilanka

Anybody from SriLanka or anybody been to Sri Lanka. I am planning a 5 day vacation to SriLanka during christmas. Can anybody suggest places to visit and things not to miss in Sri Lanka.
My holiday plan is from 22nd December to 27th December. Is Sri Lanka a nice place to visit during christmas. My husband and myself are planning to go. So ideally our trip theme is adventure,honeymoon, sight seeing and ofcourse shopping (as have heard that textile is very chepa in Sri Lanka).
Kindly suggest. am also lloking for sites that suggest tourism. Kindly help me out.

congratulations that you are going to Srilanka on 5 days vacation,i think srilanka is good and beautiful place i am planning,but finance have not permit me at present to visit sri lanka,you can find important places to visit in Srilanka in the net itself means searching travel Srilanka or Srilanka tourism board,are you going with your spouse? i wish you a happy journey

thanks for the response,net will cover everything about the Srilanka and its visiting places,when it is possible to me to visit Srilanka may be in next year i think,may not be possible also ,due to present conditions of my financial position,but everthing is in the hands of god,have a nice day

Thanks for the wishes. Yes I am going with my husband. I am anyways seraching in net, also wanted to know if there are any special places that might not be clearly mentioned in the net.

Colombo the capital, Dehiwala Zoo, Dutch period museum,Fort clock tower, Gangaramaya Temple, Independence hall, Anuradhapura, Mihintale, Sigiriya, Dambula and Aluvihara, the beaches, nature sport, the splendid waterfall a lot of places to see.

Are all these places in Colombo itself. Have you been to SriLanka. If so could you suggest few tips to remember before you go there. Like not to miss specific place during sunrise or sunset etc.
How long was your trip? Is 5 days sufficient.
