can cats have peanut allergies?

I just caught my naughty Tuxedo kitten, Muffin, polishing off my son's bowl of Capt'n Crunch Peanut Butter cereal. Now he seems kind of sluggish. Of course, it may just be because he is full, but I am worried that he might be having a reaction to the peanut butter. Does anyone know whether cats can have an adverse reaction to peanuts or peanut butter? This kitten is going to give me more gray hair than my two boys do!

Probably not, and I suspect that if he did, he'd be in a lot more distress than being sluggish. I would watch him because he probably drank the milk and cats do become lactose intolerant...

Luckily, there was no milk in it yet. I guess capt'n crunch looks a lot like cat food, so that explains the initial attraction, but I would have thought the smell would have been unappealing to him. But he also likes the smell (and taste) of coffee, so who knows? And we don't feed our cats people food normally!

That's a good thing, no milk I mean, but what is Capt'n Crunch? Corn... what is most cat food...? Corn... And dogs like peanut butter, I guess cats can too... I've heard of cats liking coffee, we don't drink much so we don't know about that - but my cats love iced tea!
