Hello, I am a crochet addict :) been crocheting for 3years... Well, recently i was thinking about selling my crafts online but the problem is that i don't have a credit card. I know only one site selling crafts and i have to pay by paypal but the problem is that i need a credit card to make money transactions on paypal.. . I've heard about alertpay (doesn't need credit card) but now i need a site that allows money transactions with alertpay. Anyone sells their crafts online? and how do you do if you don't have a credit card?

From my experience..unless things have changed and I was "grandfathered" in...all you need with PayPal is a bank account..checking or savings and that is what the PP account is attached to. However, if you do want to attach it to a credit card you can. I sold on ebay for couple years and it all worked fine. I have a PP debit card that I transfer money to and just use the debit card instead of cash which helps my in not going over my monthly budget.

GO to your bank, open a savings account. (or Checking if you can find one for free) Use this savings account information to open PayPal. Don't use the debit card... they don't take those. They take credit cards and bank accounts. I opened a (free) checking account and used that for all my transactions with PayPal...transfering money back and forth. People paying and it going through PayPal. Never had a problem.

I never have given PayPal a credit card. I didn't even have a CC when I opened it and was selling on ebay. I say open a new saving account simply cause I prefer to keep my business seperate from my personal accounts. I don't want them co-mingled so that is why I say go open a new account. If you want to use one you already have, that's fine, your choice, but that's just why I say open a new one.

Here in the Philippines, the most popular site used for online selling is multiply. It is not exactly an selling site, in fact, it is a social network site. But it is predominantly used for selling. Selling transactions are usually not done through paypal or credit card. It is more like a 'manual' transaction, wherein people pay through depositing cash to the seller's bank account or payment is sent through mobile e-load. I'm not sure if this would applicable for you. Another site that I know that is popular for crafts is www.etsy.com , though I'm not aware if they require credit cards.

I sell my crafts on Etsy. It's probably the most popular craft selling website out there and I've had a lot of success! I don't have a credit card, but I do have a debit card with a Visa logo and that works just fine. So if you have a debit card, that should work! If you're using AlertPay, they are in the process of coming out with an AlertPay debit card that will have a credit card logo on it so it can be used online as a credit card, but the money will come out of your AlertPay account and not your bank account. Once that is released, you could use your AlertPay debit card to be able to accept payments with PayPal and then you could sign up for craft websites! Also, I'm pretty sure you don't need a credit card for PayPal... I think you can just use your bank account to be able to accept payments!

My debit card doesn't have a visa logo to it :( No i have not tried Alertpay yet but the fact is i live in a small island and that Alertpay card may very well not be available here. I will see if i can make transactions without a credit card on paypal. thanks for your help :)

I have a paypal account, but no credit card. A debit card won't work with Paypal. What you can do is get a reloadable credit card, such as the Visa Travel Money card. That's the same card I use with paypal. Try going to all the banks in your area and see if they offer reloadable cards. I'm sure you can find one. As for selling your products, I would suggest using ebay. It's the most reliable and well known site for that type of thing.

You could try to use this site called etsy, they let you use paypal and you don't have to have a card. You just get the funds transferred to your bank or I think you can also send for a check to come to you too. I use the site very often for the crafts that I make and sell and it has been wonderful for me.
