Final Fantasy has been around for over 20 years. So, what are your three favorite games from the franchise and why? For me it is: 1. Final Fantasy VII (Great Story, Greater Battle System, and the Greatest Bad Guy) 2. Final Fantasy X (Really Good Story, Cool Skill System, and diverse Characters) 3. Final Fantasy XII (Lots to do and so many ways to do it)

I absolutely love the Final Fantasy series and have played nearly all of them, except for the MMO one. I'm not really into MMO's , so I didn't even bother with that one. Honestly, I didn't really like XII either, I just think it strayed too far from what the game is supposed to be. So, on to your question. My top three in the series are: 1-VII 2-IX 3-II VII was of course the pinnacle of the series, and was one of the greatest games of all time. I remember playing it when it came out, and everybody loved it. It was really a masterpiece. IX, to me was also a total masterpiece. The story was so good, and I loved the graphics, even though they took a step back from the previous 2 games. I also loved the characters, and I thought this game should have made a lot more money than it did. II, I can remember getting hooked on when I was about 10 years old. I remember playing this game over and over, for hours on end, on the SNES. This was, by far, my favorite game in the world back when I was a kid. I loved the airship concept, and I loved the story. It was one of the reasons I got so into gaming. Have you played any of the Dragon Quest, or Dragon Warrior series? I like that series of games just as much as the Final Fantasy series. RPG's are my favorite type of game, and these two series are the best of them all.

I love the Final Fantasy franchise. I'm especially a fan of the music as well as the cinematic cut scenes. All of the games have unique and interesting stories so picking just three of them is hard since I love them all. But if I did have to choose, my favorite three would be Final Fantasy VI, Final Fantasy VII, and Final Fantasy X. To be honest, a part of me loves FFVI because the main character is a female. Up until XIII came out Terra was the only one so that really stood out for me. I also enjoyed the storyline and Kefka was scary (I have a thing against clowns). Another unique thing about the game was the fact that it had so many playable characters, 14 in all I think. All the other games only have six or so characters. Final Fantasy VII is epic. It has one of the most memorable story in videogame history and Sephiroth is one of the greatest villain. I also like the fact that we get to see the summons make an appearance. We all know that they are part of the game but to actually see them instead of just seeing the results of their attacks is awesome. And Final Fantasy X is another favorite. Playing blitzball is pretty interesting. I also like the story as well as the design of the game. And since this was the first FF game with voice acting it made it memorable.

That is true. There's nothing like playing a great game that is good on the eyes too. Even though FFVIII wasn't on my list it is still a great game. That Triple Triad card game is somewhat addicting.

Everyone has their favorites in the series. I personally like Final Fantasy VII, VIII and XIII. Of the three I have not played XIII yet. But at least we can all agree that the overall appeal and magnificence of the series as well as our favorite games in particular is because of the same reasons. We like the series because its themes, storyline and depth appeal to things that we value, like, admire and aspire for.

You're right, having a female protagonist is great. They should consider having more RPGs with females running the show. There are a lot of good supporting females in the series (Rinoa, Yuna, Tifa).

I haven't tried FF XIV, but I'm looking to get into it in the next month or so. It looks really exciting. I really enjoyed playing FF XI.

VIII - not that my username gives that away at all. heh. I love Squall, he's my favourite character. I love Seifer and Irvine, I love Quistis. I like the battle system and I've explored the world through roleplay and fanfiction after it was finished. that's a big part of being into something for me. VII - for mostly the same reasons you have. Cloud is so sweet too, I love him to bits. Dissidia - "You mean I can have Squall, And Cloud in a game? Sign me up!"

1. Final Fantasy VII - quite obvious why this would get number one but in any case: Excellent story, great cast of memorable characters, good battle system (albeit having only 3 characters at once was annoying), very long gameplay and great music. Wil no doubt always be remembered as one of the greatest games of all time 2nd only to Zelda:OOT in my opinion) 2. Final Fantasy IV - although most people would say VI is the best of the 2d era, I'd say IV is the over all highlight of the 2d Final Fantasy games. It was the first Final Fantasy game to have a full, character driven story (1-3 had all generic, nameless characters). Also introduced a lot of great new features to the battle system which are now standard. 3. Final Fantasy (I) - Although a lot of people may find this game hard to play due to its high level of difficulty, the original Final Fantasy is still an excellent game and is a great start to a great series. It introduced many of the features that would become standard in future Final Fantasy games would have including the class system, spells etc... And the difficulty also isn't a bad thing really, especially when you consider how easy RPGs are now days and how you can just breeze through them.

I just remember the day when I've used to live in that game... A was playing Final Fantasy 7 for 2 years (I finishe it before, but I couldn't let it go) , every day... cried in a particular moments of the game, laughed and been angry... The best game ever. Gret graphics, storyline, charachters, battles... Everything is perfect... They do not make games like this anymore :(

Yeah. FFVII kinda set the bar up for RPGs (well, for me that is). The game also changed me, exaggeration aside. It changed the way I viewed RPGs and I've been a fan of the Final Fantasy series since then, I even got back and played the first FF games.
