The other day, my daughter my daughter decided to tell me a joke.."Mommy, what's black & white.." etc As a parent you know the answer. But my daughter had this huge GRIN and such enthusiasm I giggled in spite of myself. Caught off guard and smiling

My children seem to catch me off guard all the time. The most recent one is my son who is now learning to tell jokes. He doesn't really understand the concept of telling a knock knock joke, but it is so cute to hear him try. The other one that always makes me smile is when he is spelling his name for me. His name is Paul and he spells it like this: Pumpkin apple umbrella lollipop. I've taught him that to try to help him remember the letter sounds, but he thinks for some reason those are the letters.

My daughter usually makes me laugh at least a couple of times of day. Some of the things that she comes up with are just too funny. She was talking to grandma on the phone one day (she doesn't understand that they can't see her) and said "Grandma do you see my eye whiskers" meaning her eye lashes it was just too funny. All last summer she called grasshoppers bughopper. I still don't know where she came up with that. She is not old enough to tell jokes yet but she will already tell me "Mommy I am funny" and she really is. I find myself smiling a lot more than I did before I had this little angel in my life.

Yes, I love it when that happens. Makes a parents day in my opinion!

My children, although Adults with children of their own still catch me off guard nearly every week! Mostly its hearing them say or do something to my Grandchildren the same things that I had said or done to them when they were young.
