someone asked me the same question today. i believe the question came out of honest curiosity, not out of spite. actually, what happened was, i almost spilled the truth about a surprise party for another (our common) friend. *sigh* that would've spoiled everything because everybody else played their parts well. but anyway, our friend still looked surprised when we had the party.
so back at the question; i think i'm not a very good liar. i've probably lied more than i'm willing to admit, but i guess a little more practice would help. haha;D i can be careful but there are those instances when your brain shuts down and your mouth takes over. i'm not saying that learning to lie is good; it's just that it can be handy sometimes. do you lie often? are you good at it? haha__

I don't think telling lie is good. I sometimes tell lie but it is a simple story just for fun and small problem too. I don't want to tell lie and also bad at lie too. I can't tell lie with other person when they look at my eyes too.

yeah i agree that lying isn't good. but it's inevitable in some circumstances like when preparing for a surprise party, in which case we have no choice but to trick a person. sometimes the ability comes handy.:) i simply wanted to be ready when such a time comes.;)

I am a really awful liar. Which is why I really tend not to lie. Rather I just tell the truth. I will say this about liars and this is by no means a compliment. However, they do put in a lot of hard work towards their craft. Whatever that is work. It has to take a lot of effort to keep all of their lies straight to say the very least. I would mix up details. My memory is shoddy when telling the truth, so I can just imagine by memory when telling a lie.

hahaXD i guess it's good that you're not good at it. it probably means that your friends can trust you.
i do lie alright. i'm not particularly proud of being able to do it, but it has helped me a couple of times. one thing i do not do is make a string of lies to cover up other lies. that should be very stressful and i don't think i have enough energy for that. and the guilt should make the red light start flashing.
you probably should stick to that awful skills you have. hahaXD at least it's something you could be proud of.:)

no, i'm not... when i am lying, people can see it straight away from the way i speak and face expression that i am lying... that's why i don't lie often unless if i am really really forced to do it as it is a sin as well... i don't like to lie as well anyway as honesty is the best policy for me... take care and have a nice day...

Good liar? No. Good in pretending? Maybe? What's the difference? Well, it's so easy to know when I'm telling a lie, my voice comes out as weak and lacking firm to be believable. But when it comes to my mood, I could easily fool everyone by looking happy and all when in fact I could really be sad or angry.

i think it's relatively easier to fake emotions, because what you're hiding is really just about yourself. the same is true with me actually. things get complicated and difficult to do when you have to make someone believe something that (and you know perfectly well) is false. a person could really hate you for that. but of course it's not applicable in my friend's birthday's case.:)

I lie a lot. My life is complicated and I make sure no one finds out a bit of what's happening to me. The people I go out with, the relationships I've been through and all. I also get in a big mess, just because I texted the wrong number and all the sweet stuff sent. I laugh about it sometimes and sometimes it takes a bit longer for me to respond back. I don't think I am a very good either, but I lie a lot. No one ever did find out the truth anyway ;)

Lying definitely gives way to deceit, as people accustomed to such behavior may find it easier to being indecent and irrespective of simple rules. Your case of lying was staged, and there was commitment in doing it. Countless other people are more advanced at this, as they might totally dodge their families questions or concerns with complete lies. Its not always good be a liar, as some find it an addiction that can't be prevented. Such people may even find themselves in desperate, and crisis filled situations. When figuring out if you need practice in being a liar, just know lying should only be for temporary situations. Your friends birthday makes a perfect timely situation for lying.

got that!:) i do understand that nothing good comes out with lying one's way out of complicated situations. and when i said i wanted to be a better liar, it was within my friend's birthday's context.
i have lied in...er...other situations too, though. but i don't think i'd like to talk about it. haha;D

I'm a terrible liar. I have lied (I would imagine everyone has) before, but I'm not good at it. It's one reason I always say I could never be an actor, because I can't convincingly make a lie sound like the truth. I get nervous and my voice and mannerisms give it away. There have been times when I've gone out of my way to avoid people, because I knew the truth would cause trouble, but I knew they'd spot the lie if I told it.

yeah me too! i knew that i couldn't lie well, so i did everything in my power to avoid meeting the people that i would have to lie to. hahaXD
it's funny really. my best friend told me i should simply tell the truth and get things over with. he said i couldn't hide forever. he was right. but i somehow couldn't bring myself into hurting other people (and myself) by telling the truth. i guess i'd have to postpone that inevitable meeting for as long as i can.

I think I am a good liar. That may not be a good thing but it comes in handy to be able to be convincing. I'm not a great liar, but I can keep a secret. I don't lie to my boyfriend so I don't really care.

I have never been a good liar. i let my feelings and emotions show too much of me for that. some people are good at hiding the truth from others. i am glad that I can;t be one of those people.@greygoo (795)

i guess i'm glad for you too:) it's seldom that people get what they want.
i'm not good at it, but i want to do better. it may seem weird, but i realize that i have to be able to put up a good act when i have to. i've got complicated stuff around me. most of the time i can't refuse things upfront so i really need a way to go around things.

All i know is i lie almost everyday. There are times that i don't wanna lie but forced to and there are times that i lie just for fun. The former, you can tell that i'm actually lying. The latter, you can't tell whether it's the truth or a lie.

so it's sort of your hobby? hahaXD but it's cool that you could spit out a good lie when you choose to. that's very useful sometimes.
there've been a lot of instances when i tried to lie myself out of something. i did get out most of the time but not because i was good at what i did; it was because they knew i was lying and it was embarrassing for any of us to take notice of the fact.m(_ _)m

Am not that good of a lier, i can keep a life of a minute but not go far beyond that, and am not a person who could lie in anything. for something that common like keeping a surprise birthday its not that much of lie there are people who would lie for benefiting for their own purpose, and sometimes a lie can save other peoples benefits. one thing that is one lie can lead to other, it cant cover up all truth thats what i learned about on lying things.

well, we actually tricked him (our friend) and told him we had a meeting at 5 o'clock so he'd come to where the party's at. it's essentially a lie because there was zero truth about it, but i guess it was a nice/good kind of lie, if we allow some flexibility in the definition of the word. hahaXD
i do agree that developing the habit of lying is bad. we can get used to it and destroy our integrity in the process. as you said, a lie leads to a web of other lies. so we have to keep our lies in check!;)

yeah white lies can be good.:) i don't know why, but i'm not into calling good/not-so-bad lies as 'white lies'. i just think that lies are lies, and that's it. no need to hide behind 'good intentions'.
but anyway, i hope you learn to do better in lying! (that's if you want to.) hahaXD
