a tattoo may stop you from going abroad and donating blood it's cool if you don't intend to do any of these things otherwise be smart and think about it

because people still associate tattoos with crime and filth and prison they don't understand or fail to understand that tattoos nowadays are done in a more sterile environment and that you don't have to have a prison record to have one

I've toyed with the idea of having a tattoo somewhere discreet. But it would be tiny and feminine as well. Never had the courage to go through with it yet! Lol! It won't affect your job prospects unless it's obvious even when fully clothed. As long as a blouse or skirt covers it, it won't be a problem - no one will know it's there. The part about you having someone elses name tattooed on your body is something I personally would never do. You just don't know what the future holds, and although I hope you have an amazing relationship with your boyfriend, he is just your boyfriend, and a tattoo isn't easy to get rid of. Good luck, whatever you decide.

If you're worried about tattoos and jobs, make sure you get a tattoo in a place you can easily cover! I have 6 tattoos... some really big, some really small, and some in between. But most people are surprised to find out I have tattoos because I usually have them all covered up with clothing! Many jobs do have no-tattoo policies... but it's a no visible tattoo policy! If you can cover up your tattoos without them showing, then it won't ever be a problem.

6? wow! that seems many for me. ahhh..so it is really true that some jobs have the no-tattoo policies. =)

You can get a tattoo just not in a visible area where people can see it because if it is visible like on your chest, arms, or your wrist then your company could maybe see it and it'd be harder for you to get a job but if its hidden like on your back, lower back, somewhere not visible when wearing clothes then it's okay. I want a tattoo behind my lower back but not yet &I wouldn't get my boyfriends name or my husbands name.. I don't like name tattoos but that's me.

I don't know about the job but i was thinking about putting a tattoo of my boyfriend's name too!! :) we will do it next year, i'll put his name and he'll have my name on his body! :) I love the idea, and on my tattoo, there will be hearts too :) i haven't decided which design to put but it will be a feminine one.. whereas his will be a bit like calligraphy , and very manly

Yes, tattoo may be cool. However, it is not cool to remove off the tattoo when the relationship sours. Most of the time, this brings pain and it is more painful to remove the tattoo. This is just my view for consideration.

I have 4 tattoos so far, with plans to get many more. My largest so far is a celtic cross which takes up most of my upper left arm. In Canada, at least having tattoos is no barrier to employment. I wouldn't recommend getting your boyfriend's name tattooed, though. Getting it removed would be both painful and costly. Get a tattoo of something you love and always will. Then you won't regret it, but do get your tattoo. You can always get it somewhere it'll be hidden if you're really worried about potential employers. If there are matters of faith to consider, check out this website:www.religioustattoos.net There is bible SUPPORT for tattoos on the website. Please get your ink done by a good artist with a clean shop. Take a look at his or her portfolio before you get the work done. Remember, ink is forever, so make sure you won't be sorry later! Good luck and God Bless

Listen Hushi first off don't listen to anyone else but people who have been in that situation. I have a tattoo on my neck of my name. I also have them on my inner wrist of both arms. They are not anything offensive. I love tattoos. Its all a matter of opinion. Just like anything else. Some like piercings. The rule of business is this: If they hire you with the tattoos they cant fire you because of them. You of course shouldn't go out and get your entire body tatted. Its common sense really. If you want to be a lawyer you know that decisions are not always based on facts presented. It may be your attitude or the way you come across that is the deciding factor. If you are deciding a case involving senior citizens they may not understand you. Unfortunately we are not chosen due to our experience and education. People judge the book by the cover. Not everyone is on the same page. I would think hey she has tattoos that means she doesnt mind being center of attention and going against the grain. Whereas others may say she has tatoos because she's rebellious, violent, and maybe even a gang member. It all depends on what you're trying to do in life. Some professional people have tattoos but they put them where you wouldnt see them unless they wanted to show you. If you want a tattoo, get one. Just make sure you dont do anything that could jeopardize your future. Good Luck! Happy Tattooing.

hush if you hide it so nobody sees it it would be okay but what if you and your now boyfriend break up as most live togethers do now days, would not a new boyfriend resent your having the name of your old boyfriend out where all can seee? I would not get on that shrieks look at me if you want t o keep a job.

First rule-never ever get anyone's name on you...learned that from my dad-he had a psychotic ex wife and had her name on his wrist! Second..think seriously about what you want to get...and it's placement. I have three-two roses on my arms that I didn't consider placement and one dragon on my shoulder-I love it a lot-but again-when wearing a strappy dress at a formal event-it doesn't look good at all!

I think if the tattoo is visible then this may put some employers off, some employers are like that. I can't really stand tattoos, i think they are awful but we are all different and we all think differently, otherwise it would be a boring world if we all thought the same way. Anyway, i don't see why you can't have it somewhere on you that is not as noticeable, like the top of your arm, or your stomach, back or even thigh. I am sure that there are many places that don't have to be on show to others that you could put the tattoo, good luck and hope you get what you want.

And also, in the Philippines, when you have a tattoo, the impression of most people would be your like a person who just came out from jail. An ex-convict, a criminal.. or something like that. But I notice that this impression fades out since a lot of people as well as Filipinos are getting tattoos for the sake of art.

Hello hushi.. The name of your boyfriend tattooed on your body is only good while your relationship is good but if not... then what... If you break up with your bf then what will you do with your tattoo... will you remove it too... especially when the pain of breaking up is still there... how can you easily forget him if you always see his name tattooed on your body! and if you will start a new relationship with another guy.. do you think he will not like it removed or will be the cause of your rift.. The best thing for this.. is for you to look for a bf who has the same name.. with that you will no longer erase your tattoo.. lol..

It really depends on where you are going to put your tattoo on at. If you do it around your face or neck or somewhere visible then of course getting a job will be quite difficult. But as for travelling abroad, I have met many travellers from other countries who are covered with tattoos. But I'm not sure about getting a job because I also met a lot of foreigners in my country who are working and also got a visible tattoos. It is really also depends on what people think about it. Maybe if I ever want to get a tattoo then I will do it when I have a kid and put my kid's name on my skin instead hehe! Good luck and have a nice day

What if you and your boyfriend would be in a great fight and break up? You can't remove his name on your skin. You would take that forever. And yeah it is true that for some country, you can't a job from there if you have a tattoo. And another thing! If someone close to you is in danger and in need of blood, you can't donate for him/her because they won't get blood from persons with tattoo
