I have enrolled at this free online college that looks quite legitimate. their course material is quite good. they say you get a certificate(after exams) for every 3 people you introduce. that sounds nice as well. Please let me know what you think about it. have you heard of them before?

There are hundreds of place where you can study online without paying anything. Any site that would offer a certificate for referrals is a scam. If you want to be qualified for any subject or job, their certificates aren't going to be worth anything. I'm pretty sure that if you check over the site very thoroughly, you'll find that there are some things they charge for. It's very common to get people hooked into using a "free" site and then charge for "upgrades."

In my previous comment I wrote that it would be great to just study something and be tested for it and get results. I have read some more on the site and quite a lot of places that are accredited use their programs to study. looks like those type of groups have to pay, but the individual doesn't have to. here in south africa, accreditation isn't really an issue anyway anymore. if you only look at the people in government. no qualifications whatsoever. some didn't even pass high school. they employ doctors who did a 3 year course in Cuba. that's refreshing.

Hello zorrogirl, I think it is possible having a free online college but you need to secure it first because most of them are only scam they just only want more visitors in their website. Can you give us the name of that website so that we can check it out?

It seems quite harmless. For me it would just be good to study and be tested with some results to show for it. Here in South Africa, tertiary education is extremely expensive. I see they use this site's programs in some schools and colleges. It gives me some peace of mind. http://alison.com/?signup=1&ref=656705
