For the first time in my life, Ive just joined a contest!! You have to invent a recipe that includes a double fruit jam and the best recipe will win $10,000 of grocery . They issues a $10,000 credit card to your name and you can go grocery shopping anywhere you want. I want this so bad. We sure can use it because I do the cooking for my dad and although he pays for his food, he's way off and I dont tell him. I dont mind cooking for him, at least I know he's eating well. My original recipe was some kebab meatballs that are made with some spices and then a sauce with ketchup and the double strawberry jam. Its delicious!! I made sure I included pictures of the dish and the spices I used for the meatballs. I also included picture of the jam!! The winner's recipe will appear on a tv show for all to see and then it'll be added on the jam's company site. So will you say a prayer for me so I can win this contest please???

Lol, Magic Bubbles i'm following you everywhere without knowing that's you. I usually read the topic without seeing which nickname put the discussion I'll say a prayer for you, because good people deserve help and good emotions. Cooking for your dad is so great, i'm sure he is happy that have you as a daughter. Taking care of him, you actually make him happy and i'm glad for him, that he has so caring child. That is little strange recipe for me, because we don't put jam in meat here, but may be it taste amazing. I'll have to try it some day. Thanks for sharing it. I wish you luck and great emotions in the TV show

Im the same, I dont really look who's starting a discussion when I want to reply, I look at the subject. Yes dad says he's lucky also. I hate to think of him eating in restaurants all the time especially since he's diabetic. I wont give him that recipe haha!! I know its kind of strange to mix strawberry jam with meat but thats what they asked for. Its not something Id eat all the time. I just thought of it and tried it and it was delicious. Thank you, and bless you!!

Thank you for sharing this with me. Im sorry you cant be with your mom at the moment. Im sure you call her often so you two can talk. I bet she loves receiving your phone calls. Dont forget her during the holidays. Make sure she knows you're thinking about her even if you cant be with her physically.......and tell her you love her!!

Thank you for that great wish Magical Bubbles, since i live in other city, i made my best to be with her, when she needs it, on her holidays most. Here in Bulgaria on 8th march is the day of the mother, so me and my boyfriend took her great candle and we went to see her on her day. It was snowy and awful for driving, we thought we will stay on the highway, it was so cold and so much ice on the streets, but we reached home, at least. We hear each other every day on the phones and it's amazing time. Thanks for the answer.

That's good of you to look after your Dad. I so hope you win the contest...your recipe sounds rather delicious and very original although I'm not sure what kebab meatballs could be and I've never heard of "double jam". I'm with everyone else too as I also want to try your recipe. I use a dollop of jam in lots of my eastern dishes and also curries and such, a good jam gives a lovely fruity tang to dishes.

Thank you so much!!! Unless the judges have no taste at all, I believe I should win lol. I'll gladly share the recipe with you. I read in the rules and regulations on Mylot that we're not allowed to do so in a discussion, so if you want to, it'll be my pleasure to send it to you in a PM......pictures and all!! Thanks!!

I am keeping my fingers crossed and saying a prayer for you as well! Sounds like a great recipe, and you have made me hungry. I do hope that you win, and you will have to keep us posted. Cooking for your father can get costly I am sure as I cook for my parents and where they pay as well, they usually aren't accurate with how much the food costs, which is fine, I don't mind, but it does add up quickly.
