Poor Dad! He does have a lot to deal with! Yesterday he was roped in to Greenwood's neighbour's funeral. He told him that he definitely didn't want to go to the wake afterwards..and what did Greenwood do..yes, go to the wake as he knew that Dad needed him for the lift back. Anyway, Mum made me laugh as she told me something on the phone about these two. Well, Greenwood told Dad that he had sent his Mrs out for some pork spare ribs and gave her £10. She came back with £8's worth to which Dad said "was it a whole pig or something?" lol Greenwood then told Dad in the car that his Mrs "wants me to buy her a coat she's seen for £60. It's reduced but sounds expensive to me. Who buys a coat for that amount of money? She hasn't paid me my £2 back she owes for the ribs yet.." To which Dad replied, "Brian, I have the solution for you. Why don't you just give her £58 and call it quits!" Haha! At the wake that Dad didn't really want to go to he did relay a story about finding work in Blackpool which MAY explain why he's got a "thing" about "illegals" as he calls them. He told everyone who would listen (my Dad that is) that he had heard that there were construction jobs going on a building site in Cleveleys (when my brother was born in 1967) and proceeded to walk there for the job...only to be told on-site that "they only employed men from Ireland!" Greenwood then piped up, "My Jean is Irish!" and Jean said, "I'm with Vern on this one!" Vernon is my Dad's name. Haha! Good on yer Jean, sticking up for my Dad. Greenwood was sulking all the way back from the wake because of that little comment!

I love hearing these 'Greenwood' stories. I think we all know someone like him , or even the female equivilent of him. my husband has several acquaintances like the 'greenwood'. One is not an acquaintance, he's a brother-in- law.i have known him and his wife for 43 years and believe me , they do not improve over the years. In fact when i first knew them , I was a mere teenager, and very ignorant of these type of people. I was messed on from a great height(putting it politely) and walked all over. However over the years I have grown up and now I bite back. and yes they sulk too.But where would we be without the greenwoods of this life to spice things up a bit.

I'm glad you like the Greenwood stories. Apparently, his sulking has gone beyond what I described. He doesn't even ring my Dad up now!! I think this song might sum the situation up lol. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=agZT1QIeJlw
