When I was in college I can say that I only choose gatherings that I attended.I just remember I attended only a few like our graduation ball and a formal party when our school was invited by another school for a valentine party. I can still remember how we prepare for the gown and accessories we used in that occasion. It's actually very interesting for me to attend that when my circle of friends are with me. We enjoyed lots of laughter together and now I missed those times when we were just young and very energetic. That time we can do anything we want. Now we already have our own life, other friends of mine were already married. How about you? What did you experience in attending formal gathering? Are you fond of attending that kind of occasion?

Given a chance, I would prefer not to attend formal gathering. I don't like it having to wearing formally. I would prefer to have a casual meeting, and wearing clothes that I am comfortable in.

I guess getting acquainted with lots of people and forming friendships helps you to attend formal parties with ease. My views are pretty much the same, because when I join a group of friends to attend such events it makes my mind at ease. If I were all alone, there would be lots more stress for me. I would try to find people to talk with and worry that there aren't going to be people that are my type. A big part of me going depends on the event, and the rest depends on whether I'll know anyone there.

Ah you mean you are somehow choosy in making friends with. Just like I also get bored and stress alone

I'm not fond of attending formal gatherings to be honest as i don't really feel comfortable dressed up in a suit for ages and obviously at times i'd need to but its much better to have gatherings where everyone is dressed and comfortable how they are. The last gathering i went to was my brothers wedding, which was ok to be dressed up as its his special day, but i am surprised he was dressed up himself as hes never been one to like dressing up.

Sounds very interesting. Yeah, those were the times we would enjoy and feel very much elated. I also remember the days when I would be at the formal parties at the campus. These days, I do get to be at the formal parties, more as a duty than for enjoyment. These are business related parties where lots of guests attend, including people from abroad some times. Have a nice day May !

Its easy to feel uncomfortable at formal events, which would make socializing more difficult.

Nothing better than old days, when one was young, you are right about how much we miss those days, & how life took us from such beautifull times. When young, for me personally, i wasn't thinking too much about the future, i gess youth was just tricking us just to keep having fun & good time & not to think much of what's coming next day. None of us can deny how good & great those days, but it seems one's expectations exceed those moments, like having good future life, geting married, work... For me personally, those gatherings were like heaven, so much fun & laugh, too many friends, it was like so easy to make friends at that time, may be coz we were more pure & innocent than now, coz once we grow up, making new relations & friends starts to get lesser & lesser.
