I had problems with net yesterday so I called the net provider's men and he checked the connection with some instruments , he said that the connection is alright but it might be some problem with LAN card of your PC. Thankfully after few hours I could log in with no problems , so now I want to know how can I check my LAN card is working alright or not ? I know there is some ping checking method is there but I don't know it perfectly.

It is probably your internet service provider no matter what they told you. If it is fine now you can be sure the problem was on their end. All my lap tops do the same thing some time and I just have to waite until my ISP fixes their problem. I have 5 different lap tops in this house and all are wireless. When this happens all of them have the same problem. If it shuts down completely try unplugging the power to your wireless router and your modem. Leave them unplugged for a few minutes and then plug them back up. Give them a few minutes and then try them again. Art

i also got this problem a month ago, let me tell u what i did...! i got my external modem(provided by the service provider) and the LAN cable (which will be connected from modem to PC/laptop) and checked it in friends home who got the internet with same service provider as i got, it works fine on his computer...! i just replaced my internal modem(LAN card) it will cost very less just about 250rs suggestion 4 u: 1.first check whether the problem is with ur MODEM or LAN CABLE with someone else's computer with ur same service provider. 2.if nothing went wrong in your friends PC with ur modem and lan cable, surely there is some problem with ur lan card(then try to replace it) 3.may be u would have disabled lan connection, just make a check once on that tooo
