Oh! Sad to know that my friend. I feel the same way, just recently, my cybershot camera was damaged too. First, it was my laptop that shut down. I thought I could recover my files because I was not able to make a back up. Unluckily, it was my harddisk that was wrecked, so the technician was not able to recover my files. I felt bad. Then few days after, it was y cybershot. Worse, it was not me who broke it.

Hi dear,
If it got minor problems, you can get it repaired. Also, if it is on warrant period, I think it can be managed without paying from your pockets.
Even my video camera got damaged by one of my friend's child. He too it and opened the LCD panel and rotated by 360 degree anti-clock wise. He noticed that I have doing while I soot some time earlier. When I kept the camera on a table, when nobody noticed, he tried his best and it happened me the worst. However, the shoot the pictures through the view finder and I am managing it with now.
So, take care of cameras and especially, if children around, needs to be more careful of the same, it is my experience.
Regards,
Thank-s

Are you using a sony DSLR or the cybershot? You can always have it fixed and use your old cam in the meantime. I always believe that what really matters is that you have a camera to shoot some photos and capture great pictures. Its a good thing that you have two cameras.

At this time of advanced technology , especially in our country it would be wiser to buy a new one instead of having it repaired not unless you have a warranty. Will save you the headache of having to deal with those unscropolous repair shops who pretend they can fix everything but in the long run will come out more expensive on your part
