With all the stores now having their stores online, which do you prefer to shop in and why? I know for me I prefer to shop online for a few reasons. I can't stand the crowds of people in the stores. I don't like all the walking around looking for a great deal. I like to turn on my computer, log into my personal shopping mall and shop all the great stores i would find if i went to the stand still mall. I don't have to be bothered with all the other shoppers and the best part is a get great online coupons and i always earn cash back! I mean what is beter then getting cash back! So how do you prefer to shop, Online or in the standard offline stores?

I still prefer shopping in stores most of the time. Especially during the holiday season where you can actually hand pick the gifts you'd like to give your friends, family and loved ones. I love going shopping with friends and family, that's probably why I prefer it than online. My only concern with shopping online is I cannot see, touch or smell and/or check the product that I want to buy because I'm used to scrutinizing the merchandise before I buy it. But I did buy a few stuff online before like kitchen items and household goods. :)

I love the online shopping but I sometimes will go to the store and see the item I am wanting then go home and order it. I love getting cash back and that is why I shop online through BC, and they have over 1000 stores to choose from.

Yeah online shopping is such a great innovation. I wish it'll catch on in our country though, that big local retail stores will take to selling their wares online with free shipping and loyalty rewards/discounts/cash back etc. I've tried online shopping but you have to wait for at least a week if the seller's from another country. If you deal with local sellers some end up scamming you so that's another put-off. But once you've found a trustworthy, great seller it's a gem and very convenient too. Am not so sure about shopping for clothes online though. There's this need to want to hold the fabric and try it on if the fit's right for you. Doing actual shopping on the mall can be an experience in itself so I don't think that's going to go away.

oh i am sorry to hear that. we don't get scamming going on here. at least not from well known stores. the cash back doesn't come from the store. it comes from how you shop online. i hope where you live get's it really soon

Lot of time I see stuff in the store and feel it and check it out then go home and order it through BC. Sometimes I see something online and go to the store and look it over then go back home and order it online.

Like you I dislike the crowds so I shop online for most of my shopping. And with BC now having over 1000 stores to choose from I can see no need to go to the mall anymore. Add to that the free shipping this year and the cash be from BC I'm staying home and let the postman do the walking.

I actually do a little bit of both, depending on what I am getting. I love online shopping, but some things I actually want to see, touch and try before I buy them. And for really expensive things, I prefer to have a warranty etc. So then an online store I do not know that well is out of the question, I am afraid. My all time favorite place to shop though is Ebay, I absolutely love it!

it depends on what i am buying. if i am getting say and outfit from a store i have never shopped in before then i just might want to go and try that outfit on. but if it's stores i shop in all the time i know the fit and cut of the clothes. so i am ok with the online shopping. i don't do to much ebay shopping but i am going to be looking for a Gucci bag soon so i will be getting it from ebay for sure

For me it depends on what I'm buying, but I usually prefer shopping online since it's easier, faster, you don't have to deal with crowds, and you can usually find what you're looking for much more easily. Still, there are some items that I'd rather buy in person, so to speak, such as clothing or shoes: I like to be able to try those things on before actually buying them... and if you get them online and once you get them they don't fit, it's kinda a hassle having to send them back. Take care!

I shop online alot! You can usually find some really good deals. I hate the crowds and all the gas I go through driving from store to store only to find out the store don't have what I'm looking for. Then I sit in traffic and it takes 15-30 min. to get to another store a mile or two away. What a headache! The only thing I won't buy online is clothing and shoes and groceries.

Depends on the item that I want to buy. If its something like gadgets, collectibles or anything that I wouldn't have any issue when it comes to size, for I know exactly how they should be, I wouldn't mind buying them from online stores. Like a PSP, action figures or so on. However, you really have to be careful on buying things online. The seller should have some very good reputation to maintain so that you can be rest assured that they will really do their best in satisfying their customers. Now, when it comes to clothes, shoes or anything that we might wear, I guess I'd go for the standard shops that you have to visit. You never know if the actual item that you bought online would really fit you or if it has any damages. You get to check on that when you actually buy from their stores so you can really be sure when you actually want to buy that item or not.

LOL...my dear girl..being in "tiche" hermitous...I prefer to shop on line, nary a salesclerk breathing "their bad lunch...one too many martoonies" in my face (they can't stand the hustle and bustle, also!) Gad...zooks...there is NOT a promotion that could entice me into that melee! Furthermore, I hate spending my hard-earned money nefariously...I can take my time on line...and really shop and compare. I find if I am tossed into that frey...I will buy...buy..buy...just to get the heck away from the madding crowds! Shopping (per se) is truly NOT a possibilty where I live, two grocery stores, one hardware store...and a whole bunch of overpriced crafts from artisan's whom are a "legend in their own minds!" Putting this all into prospective...I truly am NOT Bah Humbug....but for me...any shopping day means taking a two hour Ferry ride, commencing at 6:45 a.m....then an hour's drive to the Metropolis...a humoungous marathon, to mark all off your never-ending list....another drive to Ferry...now with traffic tie-ups...another 2 hour Ferry ride home...arriving around 9 p.m. You NOW have been gone from home, nearly 15 hours....and ALL has to be unloaded from your vehicle! I've ran THAT marathon far too many times...home is where the heart is...and the shopping ALMOST bearable...LOL! It's freezing here....take care and Cheers!

Hi momma! I love to shop online. It's my favorite way to shop. I also hate crowds of people and love getting online bargains too! I've gotten everything from furniture to books, music, clothes, bedding, decorative items. Pretty much you name it, I've gotten it online! There are still certain things I have to try on so I do have to hit the stores every now and then. I just got a Laura Ashley Flannel Sheet Set from Overstock.Com today for #32.47 and a watch for $18.99. Have you ever shopped at Overstock? That's one of my favorite sites. Everything ships for $2.95!

Morning Opal....I can look at all the pretty/nice things in Overstock.com..BUT they do NOT ship to Canada. So..so many times I am truly envious of the great bargains available to you folks in the US, and the variety seems so much greater! Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours...we had ours over a month and 1/2 ago! Cheers!

I prefer in stores because things are on display there and I can look at it personally and look out for any defects before buying. Online stores, although convenient, they do not let us see the actual item and therefore we don't even know whether the item has any defects or not.

The only thing I like to buy is books and I find that they are cheaper to buy online than in stores.I do all my book shopping from Thebookdepository because they are pretty cheap and offer free shipping worldwide. The may be a little dearer than amazon sometimes but amazon shipping charges are pretty expensive if you don't live in the US

I have done most of my shopping in the stores. Sometimes you find great prices but the shipping and handling is unbelievable. Then there's waiting for the item to arrive, or if it's the wrong size? I might try it this year since some of the things my son wants for Christmas might be online.

there are those issues yes, but when you shop in the same stores you always use then most of the time you know how things fit. so size is not an issue. and with great coupons and most stores now offering a set price for shipping or free shipping those things no longer become an issue. now the waiting yes, that will always be something we can't change. unless you shop online, buy for your item, and then go into the store to pick it up. stores like kmart, wallmart, and target are doing just this! Happy shopping.

I rather shop online because there is usually more variety, and you don't have to go from store to store looking for the item you want.

I prefer shopping on line from the privacy of my own home, and at my own convenience. If I time it just right, things will arrive when I need them to. The thing to remember about shoping on line is to take delivery time into consideration. Selection is also better on line.

I lvoe going in stores so then I can handle and see the goods I am buying. But I do use the Internet to research prices etc first, as sometimes I can get better bargains on line. Sometimes I will see something I like in store, find it on the Internet and buy it there because it is cheaper.. _Derek

It depends on what I will buy. If it is expensive, then I prefer to go to real store to buy it because I can check and try the product in the store. If it is not expensive, then I prefer to buy it online because today there are quite a lot of options for you. You can consult the buyers and you can also read the feedbacks from other buyers and you will know whether this product is good or not. And usually the product will be cheaper online. The delivery is not expensive and it takes short time to ship to you. I love China

well it really depends on what i'm buying. if it's clothes or shoes, i prefer to buy at physical stores. one thing about these things are how it feels to me. i want to know if i feel comfortable wearing them. is the dress hugging me at the wrong places? are the shoes wide enough around the toes? these are factors that decides whether i buy them. things i buy online includes pet food and litter. i also buy electronic gadgets like harddisk drives or mobile phone accessories. these are things that are pretty standard and all i need to know is the product name and model.

i love doing both. But the preference depends on what i am buying. if it's clothes or shoes, then definitely shop in stores even if i know my size. it's still better to try it out yourself before buying them. if it's books, dvds, etc., then online is fine.

Shopping offline is very expensive here, with the addition of freight... my Aunt tried shopping online before but she says it's expensive, or sometimes it depends upon your currency, if peso is converted to dollar to shop online, so it is very expensive for us! But if you have dollar already on your account, somehow there are also cheaper ones in the internet, perhaps we are not that introduced to online shopping here, just starting!
