It might be but what is the solution for that is just avoid to open each and every application that comes on Facebook. I feel Facebook team must also has to take action on the virus creators. See that this application is not circulated on Facebook site. I have seen most of my friends publishing on their walls about the Trojan virus. It is hearten thing done by my friends by warning.. Now everyone has to be cautious.

Yes I think that this is by far the best way - I now just answer messages from people I know!

PLEASE please please, look these things up on Snopes.com before spreading them! This is FALSE!!! Here's the link to Snopes about it: http://www.snopes.com/computer/virus/xmastree.asp I can't even count the number of warnings or emails I've received that tell me to beware of this or that, only to find that they are hoaxes, often years old, sometimes even decades old, that no one has bothered to check out for the real facts before forwarding. I ALWAYS check them out before I forward them. Saves a lot of time and worry!

I have to say that I don't trust much these days when it comes to the internet. I've had quite a few friends have their email accounts hacked and, well, stolen! I mean, the hackers are sending spam from my friends' email accounts and, apparently, these thieves have learned how to get any incoming emails to these accounts to come to them instead of to my friends. Sigh!

This is becoming common practise here no, especially with hot mail. My daughter had her account hacked into yesterday and a friend's father in law had about 500 e-mails soliciting money go out from his hot mail account!!

Thanks for sharing. I don't use the apps on Facebook, so I guess I am lucky. I did forward an email to all my family and friends on Facebook letting them know. Thanks again.

Hiya chem, Thanks anyway but I did not use any of those applications as my Husband is getting fed up with things I download so I have not downloaded any for ages. I can just about be on here so I don´t want him shoving me off here altogether do I? I have seen the Christmas Tree thing though but left it well alone.

Hiya chem, Quite a few friends on Facebook invite me to download things and I think that they have a hard time realizing that I just can´t go and download what they want me to do either. He does not like downloads himself either as this Computer is for his Work too so it´s not a thing to play around on. I have written it on my Wall more than once that I can´t join in their Games like Farmville either I just don´t have the time gal. Not at all.

I would not even use it for that. My family is not a well knit network, as you know. I send friends pictures as mail attachments.

In the past there have been loads of virus problems that people have had with apps on face book, this has been on going. The main reason for not playing the games on there are the virus problems that it can cause.I only go on the site if there is someone i want to message.

Thanks for your information about that. I think they use some harmful code in there. So our computer will be infected when we use it. By the way, I have not use this application yet.
