I don't feel quite well in the last two weeks and I thought I have a minor fluid and keep coughing. I took some medicine from my doctors but it was useless and my ears got stuck as well. I finally went to see the ENT doctor and found out that I need to take the anti-biotics for ten days before I can really get heal. Well, the med is quite strong and I feel so sleepy, but I still think that I need to do some exrecise. I am afraid that if I don't do any exrecise during this ten days, My health in fighting those virus will be worse. That's why I will do som exercise such as jogging and weight lifting as well. I hope I won't get fainted because I am still taking those medicine that will make you feel dwosy , sleepy and tired. What about you? Will you still do exercise if you are getting sick but can still move around? Why? Share with us.

I think you shouldn't. Our body needs to rest while recovering from some virus for it to fully fight it. I have tried that before, it is like abusing my body while I am sick, and I regretted it. Just try to get as much as rest as you can. A little walk and fresh air will not hurt, but don't over do it.

I think you really have a point here. We should never abuse our own body when we are sick.I just finished my jogging experience shortly after I posted this topic on mylot.Usually I can run for ten round on the jogging filed. That was about 4000 meters non-stop. But today, I could onky finish 7 round and stop once for a short rest before I can go on. It was because my health situation was n't quite ready for the exercise. I went home and feel tired because of the effect from the medication I took. I don't think I will do heavy exercise again or jogging like what I did few hours ago. I think I really need good rest and finish all the medication. Then, I will do the exercise all over again. But right now,I think I really need to take my last medication tonight, then I will go to sleep.Good night for now and thank you for your response. I hope you can always have good health and enjoy doing exercise all the times

Hi wildlittlefan, I think you should hold off on the exercise, until you get a full checkup from your doctor. If he or she gives you the okay to continue to exercise during your illness, then and only then should you continue your exercise routine. When you are ill, your body is trying to tell you that something, serious or not, is wrong and sometimes you must take it easy, giving your body time to recuperate. If you choose to ignore your body's warning signs, you could make matters worse. If you have doctor prescription, such as antibiotics, you have to finish them and then get a final okay from the doctor that you are fit to resume your exercise.

You have made a very good point in your response. We should always consult the doctor and his opinion and advice is truely important than anybody else. I didn't remeber to consult my doctor , so I end up have to consult all the frineds on mylot. Well, it looks like their reponse are good and their advice are all helpful as well. That,s why I like mylot very much. It is becuase you can alway slearn something from your response and I have 15 response for this topic up to now and it is not bad for a simple topic like this. On the other hand, each time when I type in something, I can see the money goes up in my counter. Well, I have met the payout already and I still have 6 days to go and I think my earning for this month will be the best one for my mylot history . Although this is only the third payment I am going to receive in mylot, I feel happy because I work hard for it and finanlly I got the result for my work. It may not be a lot of money ,but something to encourage me for my good work. Well, I hope you can type more and make use of the mylot search engine and earn more money from mylot. At th same time, I hope you will always be in good health. It is not a funny thing to be a sick person and I am still taking medication at the moment. Well, I hope I will do exrecise again after I am totally recover. But for now, I can only get rest all the times.Have a nice day.

We get sick because something in our body isn't right or not functioning well. It is advisable to take a rest and well consult your physician. Doctor's would at least know what is up with your body, and I guess it would be a brutality to your body getting sick but you would still do exercise, unless the exercise was recommended by your doctor to do. But it is under rare circumstances. And if you really want to do exercise, I guess you seek an advice from your doctor. God bless you mate, stay healthy and fit soon. Get well! :D

Thank you and I will definitely take your advise after last night's exercise. I felt tired and couldn't finished my normal jogging. I think that I really need more rest to recover and then do my exercise only when I am totally alright. Frankly speaking , exercise is good and nobody will deny this. But doing exercise really takes lots of energy and sometimes so boring when I am doing it alone. It would be nice to have some friends to do the exercise together, the we can chat while doing exercise. I have just known a guy in the gym room.He was a former coach on weight lifting and he taught me a lot on weight lifting. I can still meet him once a while in the gym and we can talk and laugh at the same time, then it really make the time goes by faster. But unfortunately, I am sick and can't go to the gym room almost for another week I guess. Why? Because the ENT doctor had given me ten days of antibiotics and other med as well. I have to finished all this med until the tenth day. The med always made me drowsy and I also lost my mood in eating today. I think I will just eat some congee and something that will solve my hunger and that's all. I used to be quite picky on eating for I love to eat new things with new taste all the time. But now, I really have no eating mood for that because of my physical condition. Well,Each time when I get sick , I can always learn a new thing : That's our life can be very simple. It is because I can eat something simple during my sickness all the times.Sometimes, just one or two pieces of bread will do.But when I get recover, I will probably go back to the same old eating habit again. Well, I think as long as I am not sick, then it would be good. Have a nice day and God bless you .

Before I which is FM, I used to suffer with depression and the odd cold every now and then. In both these cases I thought exercise was the best thing I could do. My theory is as long as I'm not stuck to the toilet or that bad I can't move... exercise is good. In the case of the common cold.... I feel it helps the body to fight back. In the case of Manic Depression, although it doesn't solve the problem it helps to occupy the mind and release feel good chemicals. Since the FM though I've found exercise very hard and I'm now putting on weight which is now starting to worry me.

I think doing exercises while youre sick is not a good idea. It will 90 percent will worsen the body's condition. Rest is the best thing to do, it will help the body to heal fast. Eat plenty of fruits, take more sleep, and most of all be with your love ones cause they will care for you until you get better..

I think that depends on you. If you still feel that can do simple exercise then go on. When i am sick and having fever i jog a lot to sweat off the heat and it makes me feel better. But,if you think you are too weak to do any exercises, never try doing or else you might yourself more. Have a good day

I will rest instead of dragging my poorly body to the gym. Generally, your immune system lowers its guard after exercises and that's why lots of athletes catch cold more often than normal people. It is better to rest and wait until you are fully recovered before carry on any fitness regime.

I agree with previous posts. If you are sleepy, it means your body needs rest and the antibiotics may work better when you are resting. Light exercises like walking and stretching should be ok. But I would have to recommend staying away from the weights until you are better.

I believe it's not recommended because if you do it might get worsen. Rest is what your body needs. Also drink lots of water to keep you hydrated and eat lots of fruits and vegetables to help you regain strength and recover faster. Get well soon. :)

I don't think I will still keep on exercising during the time I am ill.Because at that time I don't have the strength to do it.I will stay in bed, take some medicine and when I am well. I can go on exercising as usual.

I have to agree with damned_dle that I don't think you should do too much. Just go out side and get some fresh air when you start feeling restless. But for the most part you should really be resting in bed. That tired feeling you have from taking the medication is a message from your body. It's trying to use the medication to get over the illness and it needs all the energy it can have to fight the illness. Just rest and let your body and the medication do their jobs. Then you'll be feeling better and be able to exercise like normal. But if you push yourself while your body needs rest, it'll take longer to get over the illness. Something I'm sure you wouldn't like at all.
