Thoughts on your new WWE Champion.

If you had told me even three years ago that I would see the Miz challenging for the WWE Championship, much less winning it I would tell you to get a cat scan. Still the Miz has really come a long way. Not the biggest fan of him, but really he has improved some this year. And hey its something new. WWE has something on their hands if they pull the trigger on a Daniel Bryan/Miz match for the WWE Championship at Mania, with the idea of Daniel Bryan beat Miz for the US belt, now he tries for the big belt. That would be a new fresh main event feud and given a build could give some much needed interest to Mania. That would be actually good and different but I doubt that will happen. More likely one of two things happened. Orton regains the belt at TLC. Or its Triple H facing Miz for the belt, with Miz playing Chris Jericho circa 2002 and being crushed by Hunter. Still I wonder if Miz is in for the long haul or he'll have a token run like Jack Swagger before going back to the midcard.

i see The Miz as RAW's version of (but not-so-much) Edge, an opportunist.

Yeah I can see some similarities as well. We'll see if his first title run is longer or not than Edge's. Also, I'm getting a slight JBL vibe off of him, in the sense that he went from a midcarder to a World Champion rather quickly(although not as quickly as Mr. Layfield). Perhaps I'm the only one but that's just what I'm seeing. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

nice that you mentioned jbl megamatt! always loved jbl as a champion heel! i remember he had that insane streak as a wwe champion and i loved every single match and rivalry he had. he simply smoked the competition and owned everyone from the big show to batista to taker and the list goes on and on and on! i think jbl's title reign was one of the best in smackdown history. if miz coems ot even close to one-half of what jbl did then maybe i'll buy into this whole the miz as a wwe champion heel thing. cheers!!!

my two cents about this one. as much as i love heels i truly hate the miz as a heel! he doesn't come off as convincing as the usual heels we've seen in the past like orton, edge, or even jbl. i would agree that he has improved a lot since his the miz-john morrison tag team days but to actually be the wwe champion is beyond me. i agree that this is really something new from the wwe creative team but the idea just doesn't appeal to me as a wwe fan. i'd love for the miz to drop the belt back to orton in tlc and orton to battle it out with triple h in wrestlemania. anyway, at this point i'm still not convinced with the miz as a wwe champion heel but i'm willing to have a wait and see attitude about this one. hopefully, this pans out right for wwe fans!

Wait and see is the best one. And knowing how WWE operates with their title changes, it could be highly likely that Orton does get the belt back on Sunday. If that happens, I expect Sheamus to beat Morrison to become the number one contender, Sheamus to beat Orton, and then we have Triple H and Sheamus at Wrestlemania 27, but who knows. Three, four months is a long time and people get hurt or whatever, so you know things are going to happen. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

believe me i love heels but miz doesn't strike me that well. when randy was the heel,he did some outrageous thing but he had a style. during legacy,i saw the potential that he could turn this heel into something people would love which he did. so is the case with edge.the maniac thingy has been his trademark and he is very good at it. but miz didn't even strike me a wrestler with captivating moves. i dont remember the last time i saw this new heel miz is a memorable match. it didn't go well with me

Time will tell what the Miz's title reign will be like. He's not the best choice but at the same time, there are far worse choices that they could have(and had put that belt on). Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

I really thought Randy Orton would have retained the belt anyways, because the Miz still doesn't seem like championship material. I still see the Miz as the guy who used to be on MTV and got a job announcing for Smackdown. Don't get me wrong, the Miz is a great heel, but come on, not a WWE/Heavyweight champion. I'd rather it be given to Wade Barret.

The Miz will always have that taint to him I think. I'm not the biggest fan of the world of him but I've gone from completely hating him to acknowledging that he has improved over the past couple of years. Still I can't help but shake the feeling the more that I think about it, is that he's keeping the belt nice and warm for the impending return of Triple H, who is supposed to be back by Rumble. I would have rather the belt be given to Barrett as well, because it would have taken Nexus to the next level. Thank you for your response, it is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.
