understanding the taxi driver...

i am glad i have talked to this nice person who corrected my view on my perception about a taxi driver.
let's say i have seen and experienced being rejected by a taxi along the street. it really made me wonder why some taxi drivers are just so picky when it comes to passengers. they seem picky in different ways. i have observed for quite long if they still do it and yes they do. so i kept on thinking these drivers are being so silly.
sometimes i though if i won't be in a hurry i will also be picky so that they will realize the flaw.
i have talked to this girl who owns a taxi and her brother used to drive the taxi until one time he was almost held-up and could've died. he had this very sexy and rich looking passenger who asked to be dropped somewhere. when she got off to get some money perhaps she came back accompanied by big guys who had some guns. since the driver was alert and the taxi was automatic he drove away immediately.
when i heard this story and saw how the girl was worried i realized it isn't easy to be a taxi driver. i guess it was a bit late for me to understand it but im happy i did.

Oh, that's why taxi drivers are so picky. Some taxi's ignore me when i'm with friends and we're trying to get a ride home late at night. I guess we looked like a bunch of muggers. Lol

Yes, that happens with some taxi drivers.
One taxi driver friend of mine has a different story.
A girl from the airport asked him to bring her home outside metro,a nearby town which is not near of course (it's outside metro)
When they reached the place,the girl went off and asked my friend to wait for her saying she's gonna get the money because she doesn't have any in her purse.
But sensing a danger,my friend drive off quickly before the girl having company could return back.(it's happens to his co-taxi driver before and it's too late for my friend to realized he is to be the next victim)
Good thing he remember his colleagues experience,he was able to escape the hold-up (well,he was almost hold-up with the gas they consumed)
So,we can not blame some taxi drivers for being choosy with passenger esp with girls.

Well, most taxi men have experience to tell. Some have horror stories. Some were robbed. So, it is not safe for taxi men these days especially with gangs taking advantage of old taxi drivers. There are so many foreigners in my country and they are notorious for conning and cheating taxi drivers.

All taxi drivers are not equal, i have two totally experiences with taxi drivers in my country,in 1984 i was moving in a taxi to a college to conduct practical examination, the taxi got punctured halfway, i had paid full fare of 500 in advance, for the to and frow journey, this driver was so nice, he called another taxi, talked with the driver, who took me to the college , after the exam was over he dropped back me in home..
The second was a bad experience, a friend faced a road accident, we took him to hospital in a taxi, as there were no body to help carry the unconsious friend, we request him to help, but he denied straight..

I used to ride taxi all the time for I hated jeepney's, it's so congested and has too many stops, I never experienced not being picked though...my fiancée said that its because I look rich, LOL
I always thought highly of taxi drivers, I think their job is hard and they know so much about many topics, and its sad that some of them are mugged...
