I turned my tv on and it appeared on the screen BBC news. There was a segment on the news about a survey of how respondents choose between money or happiness. It caught my interest so I sat down on the couch while sipping over coffee and watched.According tot the survey over the news more respondents prefers happiness than money.I was stunned, well I would say money is not at all the ultimate source of happiness. There are some other factor people would be happy. But i was thinking also you wouldn't be happy if your pocket is empty, right? however happiness cannot be tamed shall I say furthermore it is a matter of contentment in life with a balance lifestyle, probably yes.which do you prefer? Im glad to hear from you..

I choose happiness anytime :) As what you have said money is not at all ultimate source of happiness. But if your happy, you can do a good job, have a good salary, have a nice home and a good life. Meaning if you are happy, you can do anything, coz you think positive. People get crazy over money, but who doesn't want money? Sometimes money causes serious problems like family fighting over money, robbing banks/houses, murders because of money/debt.

You are quite right here. If we are happy, everything is possible to get. Why do we live here in the world? For being happy and enjoyable. Even without much money, if we could live a happy common life with the whole family and our friends, that's enough. Money is for Happiness. But sometimes it can't bring what we really wish.

I don't believe in the concept of happiness. For me, I do trust on spirit and spirit. But that doesn't make me choose money. Money is just needed for restrain life. We don't live to earn money and money, but to seek the essence of life itself. In this extent, both happiness and money can speak nothing. If I'm spirited, I would never look for happiness. Spirit is worth than happiness, in my opinion.

My opinion is the same to you. Because I think if you have no money, how could you be happy then? I don't think money is the only way that we could get happiness, but it is really a very important factor that could influence our life and happiness. Money can't buy all happiness. But if you have little money, you cannot get happiness even by expensing your money!

Why not both? Someone could be successful and happy at the same time . But if i have to choose i prefer happiness , not everything could be bought with cash.

i still prefer happiness than money... i didn't say that money is not important... but it is not the ultimate important... it is only a tool for survival and that's why i never dream to have lots of money... my dream is only to have enough and be happy... you see, lots of rich people have loads of money... but many of them do not have a happy life... so having lots of money doesn't equate to happiness... on the other hand, we can see poor people who still can enjoy and have a happy life because they have people surrounded them who support and love them... take care and have a nice day...

I prefer money... If there is money for your needs then happiness will come searching for you.. :) If there is no money for your needs, then there is no point for u or me to be happy.

Yes, you are right. Contentment in the right balance will bring about happiness. To have a debate between the choice of money versus happiness is not truly a fair thing to do. For one, what brings happiness? Money does, you know. In fact, to many people money will definitely bring about happiness as without it, life can be miserable for you and your loved one. Happiness comes from many things. It can spring for health, love,a successful career, great friends, achievements and the joy of travel.

For me, I prefer both money and happiness. We just have to be balance. We cannot be completely happy if we are broke and we cannot just depend on money to make us happy. They have to compliment each other.

Well there are alot of people that choose money over love and happiness. These sorts of people never are truely happy and life a very lonely and unhappy life. They may have material possessions and lots of fiancial freedom but they will likely have very few people to share it with as they have pushed these people aside in order to achieve this unless they won the lottery or something like that. Some people can be rich and successful and not only care about the money and give to others with any second though rather then be a tight wad and never give to friends and family or charities.

Happiness of course! What can I do with my money if I am living in misery and sadness? It's true, money cannot buy happiness and contentment..

Money and happiness are connected. If you don't have money in your pocket you cannot be happy. There can be moments of happiness, but you never truly be happy. But still there are many things which make up for the lack of money, such as good friends, family etc :).

I believe it's all relative. News broadcasters report to the wealthy when it comes to money. They focus on news for investors and people have "disposable income". The middle class is content with their home, two cars and one little vacation a year. Happiness is family coming home and great smells coming from the kitchen!

Hey ordecai, Honestly, I want money. It makes me happy. That's reality, no need to deny it. People choose happiness over money once money failed them. Many think that money makes your life miserable, but the truth is, it is your savior. Use it well to make your life safer.

I unswered today : Love or money and i picked Love . Happiness include Love so ... Happines Money . Simple as that :P But anyway to type something why :P Well i think love is the most important thing in my life and even if i have milions i will not be happy , i need money as far as i can cover mine her and maybe one day our family needs . So for me money are just to keep our bilogical body alive and our life non missarable . For the rest the love and happiness for my girl and family are the most important thing , even if i had to be poor and i have them i will still prefer them . Monay can't buy happiness (or at least Love) .

We all need money to survive. Money does not make a happy it is monetary. You can not take it with you when you leave earth. I had a nice nest egg then one day I got cancer and within four months all gone. I was devastated at first however it is monetary. I am very happy to pay my bills provide for my children with a little extra and then I help people who need help. If I have it extra then I will give it to those who need it. Just a thought...But I am broke and smiling...

I believe that we need money to be happy, but only a significant amount of it. Its really all a matter of interpretation and contentment. For some people maybe happiness is a million dollar house and a super hot trophy wife. But for me it would only be a small stable business, a cute home, a loving wife and children.
