Yes. I started eating at karinderia in college for many reasons. First, I have a budget to maintain. Eating on fast foods is going to cripple me and my wallet. Second, I always liked a hot plate and I like home-style cooked food. The food makes me fuller and leaves me satisfied compared to other foods who had a number of health side-effects. Lastly, the karinderia atmosphere is very approachable - the noise, the sounds and the people. Even though the servers are practically strangers somehow they remember what kind of dish I want to eat and they also often recommend what's good on the menu. Many times, the owner would consent to reserving tables for a group eating session followed by a group discussion about a certain project or class issue. The karinderia also have many perks since there is a lot of variety of food to choose from and most often, you can specifically ask the server to pick a part that you're fond of eating. Also, the free soup and water is always a plus since it saves money.

Of course. What would life be without a carinderia nearby. In Makati's CBD, carinderias are hard to come by but good thing is there's jollyjeep.

When I am too tired to cook, I stop by the UP Shopping Center carinderia and buy a viand or two. I limit my purchases to fried fish or chicken. I can't eat diniguan nor menudo anymore.

If I am already on the budget and no choice then I am eating in local carinderia. I understand why some people does not like to eat over there because they don't have the assurance regarding its cleanliness.

Of course and I particularly choose the one where people come and go because it is an obvious sign of great cooking and affordability. I traveled once w/ my two friends for almost 300km to attend a wedding and stop for a brunch in a small carinderia and ordered 6 viands and a litre of coke and we were charge w/ P72 only. We could not believe it and it felt like taste better than whats on the expected banquet.

Yes, I've try eating at the Carinderia because it's affordable and the food are good. I respect their decision why others don't like to eat there, it's their choice and I'm sure they have a good reason for that.

If you consider Jollijeep as carinderia, then yes, I have tried them. They are surprisingly tasty and of course very affordable. But I don't eat there, more of a take-out. It's hard to eat there dressed in office attire under the sweltering sun. My friend always warns me that I might get hepatitis, but the food is just way better and so much cheaper that I can't resist.
