Do you prefer shopping from online shops or real shops?

Nowadays, shopping online become more and more popular, especially among young people. You can see www.ebay.com, www.alibaba.com, www.taobao.com become more and more famous and important. What's your viewpoint about it? Support or oppose it? Below is my opinion.
As far as we know, there are so many advantages in shopping online. First, it is convenient to shopping online, you can shopping where internet works, choosing the styles, colors, different qualities, etc, than comparing the cost among the different shops, sitting in chiar and having tea. (Most of all, you can shopping from all over the world without traveling to the origin. Sure it is amazing.)On the contrary, shopping from real shops you have to move through malls to malls, tiring and exhausting. Second, the items cost of online shops are much lower than the real shops'. The former reduced some sales steps so the sales price is lowered. Third, you have much more choice than from the real shops. You name it, you can get it from the online shops.
However, shopping from online shops has its disadvantages. First, you can't see the real item before receiving it, maybe the picture shows online looks more beatiful than the real item, furthermore, maybe the item's quality not as good as you expected. Second, if you need the item urgent, maybe it will be delayed during shipping, especially, international shipping. So it is better not to purchase emergency goods online. Third, some crooks make use of internet to cheat, so please be careful and make everything is clear befor you place order.

I prefer shopping online because you can always compare prices and get them for a cheap price than a store, but I do buy from stores too, but that's when I see something that I like and I know that it's a good deal when it's on clearance. Either way I just love to shop, but I don't waste my money just like that I shop when I have some money that I saved up online to spend. When it comes to money I always have a hard time letting go can't say the same for my brother he spends money like theirs no tommarrow, but now hes broke and he should have saved his money instead, oh well.

Dear ANIME123, thanks. hehe, you are the first person to vote shopping online. I can see you like to purchase from online shops as some of my friends. yes, save money is a reason make us happy.

I'm afraid of cheat in online shops. So I don't like to shop online, but sometime, I have to buy something online because I can't find it at the real shops.

This is a very nice topic! First of all , I like shopping very much. I would say both online shopping and real shopping are great for me!
For online shopping, it is better if you know the store very well so you know what things thet actually selling, the quality, the products and so on. Sometimes, online shopping gives us the advantage to buy things that are not available in your country , certain brand or certain models. If you are worry it is better to buy online from its official websites. They are many branded official websites than ship globally.

I personally prefer buying stuff in shops for a few reasons. First I can see the item for myself and not just a picture. Also I hate waiting for stuff to ship XD.
Unfortunately most of the stuff I like to buy most is only available in Japan. While I was in Japan I was obviously able to buy these things right in stores but now that I am back in the US I'm stuck using online shops. So I guess even though I like shopping in real stores better, I end up using online shops more.

I love both! Often times I find myself looking at the store online before I go to it. This way I can see if they have things that I want before I ever go in and start to shop. This is convenient for me, but it does defeat the thrill of a fantastic find. If I go to a store that is not online like Marshall's then I get excited by the thrill of the hunt!

One of my friend shop like this: She go to really specialty store first, and find which one she like to buy, then go to online shops and search it, she can get the same items but with much lower price. haha, good way i think.

first of all, i would like to welcome you to the mylot community... i still prefer to shop in store rather than online because it is safer and i would like to see the items that i am purchasing before i spend my money... i am quite a choosy person and i want the best return for every single cent of my money that i spend... so shopping online won't fit for me... take care and have a nice day...

Actually, some of my friends really like shopping online and show them to me. It seems they get lots of fun from online shopping. hehe. I guess online shopping will become more popular. For myself, i also like to purchase from real mall, know the details of the item before pay it.

You are certainly right on those issues. In my case, I still prefer to purchase by directly going to the shop rather than online. Although there were items that I bough online but not very often. I only buy it online when its physically impossible for me to go to the place and see the item.

I had my computer for over 3 years now and never bought anything on line.
I prefer to look at everything up close, feel it make sure it works proper.
If you order something on line and it doesn't work or it don't fit you have to figure out how to get your money back.

Hi missybear, thanks for sharing. As far as i know, online shops can change or refund for you if the item doesn't work, but the premise is the shops has good fame and it is in your own country, or the international shipping cost much.

There are many advantages to buying online all of which can be quite appropriate to people with busy lives as well as others looking for to better manage their time and resources. Buying online can take a small part of the time it takes to use the conventional method of buying groceries and can also cost less with tax free shopping, no driving around. Food that is acquired online may not be taxable either. A few non-food items may be taxable however.

There are both advantages and disadvantages from online and real shops. Real shops allow you to check the merchandise physically while you can't touch online goods. But online shops may offer goods that you may never come across before in your country.
For a comparison I think no one is better between them. They are complimentary to each other.

with all the experiences i had with online shopping, all of them bad, i have vowed not to engage myself in online shopping. it may be convenient but it's more boon than bane. i prefer shopping in malls because you get the value of what you paid for..

I still prefer buying from real shops . It's a fact that some of their goods are overpriced ,but still I prefer to buy something I like at the moment, without having to wait for 2-3 weeks for a delivery from a site . You can try clothes and shoes in real shops to see if they fit you , but for the online sites you have to have for the delivery / 2-3 weeks/ , then try them on and if they don't fit you , you have to return them in order to get a new size , which would take a month or so.
Though by online site you have the opportunity to shop at lower prices and sometimes the get like 50-70% of all their products , which makes online shopping quite a smart thing to do.

Yeah, most of your points are detailed. I had the similar experience about shopping online. That time i order a pair of shoes from taobao site there a shop show a nice pic of the shoes, but the result is out of my imagine after it sent to my house. I only wear about two weeks the shoes totally broken. From then on I no longer buy goods from taobao site. Now I search another good site www.ectang.com which always offer good quality products with wholesale price. I take it as my favorite. I think most people may like to have durable goods which can be used for a long time instead of the beautiful goods with less effect.

I haven't tried online shopping but I prefer to shop in real shops for many reasons. One of the reason is that I am able to talk and get more details from the salesperson about the product. Also, I like to inspect the product thoroughly especially if it's for personal use. I dislike the fact that someone can scam me over a product online and I also don't like the notion that I don't know where my merchandise has gone (shipping concern). Another advantage of real shopping for me is that I can haggle as much as I could to the vendor/salesperson. I could sometimes get some additional items if I had a good relationship with that particular store or establishment. I can also keep track of what I am buying easily.

Hi, I interesting topic. I love both. Of course, everyone love shopping from malls, we can try it before paying, moreover, we can have fun.
Nowadays, i fall in love with an online website: www.taobao.com, the price really good, but it is in Chinese, so i purchase through a taobao agent named YOYBUY, www.yoybuy.com. They work good. I like it.
