I have worked at this place for 8 months minus a month that I left and I went back there are only 3 employees there and this old man we work with makes me laugh everyday all day and I can't stop!! He is a trip! Sometimes the owner gets mad and says we are cross talking and will send us home sometimes if he catches us laughing and cutting up but we still get our jobs done! Do you think that is wrong?

Having happy employees that get along is great. As long as you get your jobs done I see nothing wrong with laughing and having a good time. Actually, being happy can also increase production. Positive vibes is a good thing. Could it be the boss is jealous because he doesn't feel included in the laughter?

It would seem that your boss would be happy that his/her employees are happy and they are getting their work done and still managing to have a good time. Customers want to be around happy people, because the happy moods set off a positive vibe! No, there is nothing wrong with laughing and having fun at work.

What a grumpy boring boss! What is wrong with having a laugh at work? It’s difficult enough being there some days; if you can’t share a joke you will end up depressed! I too hope your boss pays you although he sends you home sometimes! Having good work mates can make the world of difference in a job. When I worked in the bank I was sent to the busiest branch in the state and the pressure was huge but the people I worked with were so much fun that we used to get together at weekends as well. I don’t think I would have coped with the stress if it wasn’t for my great workmates. Your boss needs to lighten up!

Yea he really does but it is so different when one of the sales guys get there and them 2 get together they are out of control loud and laughing and I always say it must be happy hour again when those 2 get together.
