Yes. Viruses can be hide in restore point and could attack again even if you have clean up them in you PC. That's why we are suggested to turn off system restore before scanning our computer if our computer has infected by viruses. Most of viruses are inactive in Windows safe mode so, option to clean up them in safe mode are good one. However, only few of anti virus software functional normally in safe mode. One of anti virus software that work in safe mode is Avast. You may download it for free at http://www.avast.com/free-antivirus-download.

hi there ^^ actually.... system restore feature in windows cant solve your viruses problems, for me, the best way to do for remove viruses is manual remove w/o antivirus programs. lot of information in internet to wipe manual virus, u can googling. usually if your computer infected by virus, u cant access registry editor, can't merged file registry for enable some of windows feature that has been disabeled by viruses like task manager, run, command prompt, folder options, msconfig, regedit etc. so dar i know, lot of viruses still create from vb n c. u can create lil script from pascal or delphi for enable some of windows feature that has been disabled. or u can try using 3rd party prgrams that allowed u to enable again that features, like tune up utilities, if that feature already enable like before, u can check the viruses process in task manager, then find the viruses files in main partition OS, then find in registry editor, if u found n all u find is match as a viruses parts. delete that

The short answer is yes. A System Restore point is a snapshot of changes to binary files such as executables, libraries etc. introduced to and removed from the system since the last system restore point. Therefore, malware will also live safely in a system restore point. You can either wipe the infected files from the infected restore points, or wipe all restore points altogether.
