Rice is the main meal in Indonesia. Without rice, meal is not completed. So we have may special rice menu to make. It's very delicious with some soup or vegetable and some fried chicken, kinds of beef. So for breakfast, lunch and dinner we eat rice for special menu. That's why if we eat too much we can be fat. Because rice contains carbohydrate and it will full stomach.

I make rice a few times each week to go along with my meals. I like it. My kids say I make it too much. I like white rice with a lot of things but they think it is too bland.

rice is the staple food here too- in the Philippines. I also feel the same way- a meal won't be complete without it. My family and I eat rice for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We also have different stuff to put in it to make it more delicious, like toppings, or sarsa, or soup...

Hi coollady! Agree! It's the staple food in South East Asia, I believe. Over here, we have a choice of serving rice, fried, steamed, boiled, perhaps baked or made into rice cakes and the likes. They are equally delicious to go with any dish and vegetables to make up for a balanced diet.

I don't really eat rice all that much at all now that you mention it! It's not THAT popular over here (the US) unless it's going with Asian take-out food. But I do like my brown rice, boiled, with veggies on occasion. Seems like a healthy addition to any meal.

Hi, Yes..I do eat rice and it is an important meal in our daily life. But sometimes, when I feel bored eating rice, I will cook either noodles or vermicelli. Rice is the best dish to go with vegetables ,chicken and soup. I don't consume lot of rice in my meal...I prefer to eat more vegetables.

Yes, Philippines too. Our staple food here is rice. 95% of our population here eat rice and only a small percentage eat corn and root crops as their main food. Rice gives us uncommon energy boost compared to other carbohydrates rich foods like bread or noodles. We need to eat rice especially if the work of the day is physically heavy.
