OK this is Dawn's evil twin talking...

Do you remember last week I got chewed out by the husband of a prospective volunteer because his wife and daughter showed up and were told that there wasn't a lot for them to do? Well yesterday I was contacting people who had set up volunteer interest forms, and I saw that they had filled one out. So after I crossed it out, since he said they wouldn't be back, I map quested their address. Er, my evil twin map quested their address. So I determined that the distance from his house to the adoption center was shorter in miles than my house, and that the drive was about the same (because I can get right on the freeway, and they can't). Well why did my evil twin do this? Because one of his sticking points in his nastygram to me was that they had driven over an hour to get there. Well maybe they did, but only if they were either going 24 miles per hour, or had made a LOT of wrong turns. So anyway it gave me some weird sense of satisfaction that the guy who had chewed my butt out for the "disrespect" shown to his wife and daughter had probably LIED to me about the facts. I also took some evil satisfaction from the fact that they live in a really RICH neighborhood, and yet they were there to volunteer, not out of love like most of us are, but because somebody had broken the law and had to do community service, despite living in one of the richest areas in Sacramento. Well, my evil twin did anyway. But don't worry, I taped her hands to the chair so that she couldn't reply back to him and call him a liar.

First of all please let the evil twin take over your account, as I would like to personally chat with her.. I like her, yup that's right, What a smart girl, your twin and I like her already. and personally it gave her self satisfaction that people like this are utterly horrible. Although I like you too, something about the twin says, I do not get mad, oh no I get even. ahahaha... even if it is just to prove to your, I mean herself that that the jerk is an A-hole.

And I would just love to let my evil twin go on a rampage, but since I represent an organization with a good reputation, I'm going to have to rein her in. :-(

I hate to have my evil twin show up and prove me right when I think someone is being naughty. I would rather be wrong, actually. So you just deleted their volunteer interest forms? I wonder if you could permanently block them.

You know, you could always cover your evil twin's fingers with honey and hand her some feathers. She'll be so busy trying to get the feathers off her hands she'll forget any thought of revenge. But, it does feel good to think about, doesn't it? I've had my share of some really awesome revenge over the years, although I've never carried it out. Don't you just love it when these snotty socialites are brought down a peg or two? Even though you weren't able to do that to his face, at least you got the satisfaction of knowing that "Mr. High-and-Mighty" is a liar and no better than anyone else. Still, it would feel great to let him know that, wouldn't it?

Ah, kee-rap! I keep forgetting words today. Alzheimer's? Hope not. Anyway, I mean to say that I've had some really awesome revenge IDEAS over the years. Hmmm, maybe having that evil part of my brain has had a bad affect on it.

that's what my dad used to call "driving through china" to get somewhere. that's probably why he was so b*tchy.they had to find somewhere else to do the community service.

I would have love to tell him off, but it would just have turned into a flame war. And who knows? Maybe he would have gone around bad mouthing the organization and so on. And who needs that? But I can tell him off here, no consequences.

I can understand better why he was so upset. It was community service that his family would have been doing and he doesn't want anyone to know. So he had it all arranged in his mind. If anyone saw them working at the shelter he could just say they were volunterring there. Now they will have to do their service where they may be more exposed to discovery and he will have a much harder time explaining it. Maybe they will even have to pick up trash on the road side. Poor guy his pride and reputation is at stake. Can you tell my tone is sarcastic?

If the jacka** ever e-mails you again, I think I'd conspire with my evil twin and prepare a blistering reply. With your two heads together on the reply, I bet he wouldn't be able to sit for a week. Oh, be sure to add a note to the effect that they can always use volunteer help picking up trash along side the road. They even offer orange uniforms in many cases.

Personally, Dawn, I don't think that suppression is healthy and "evil" is just a matter of opinion. I would let the evil one be a free spirit.

Uhmmm...Dunno...I would be inclined to un-tape her hands…I know, I know you should be the better person and let it go but people like that really get under my skin. They live in a rich neighbourhood so they are not poor but they break the law and get sent to an animal shelter to complete community service and they complain??? Uhmmm...I will go now before MY evil twin comes out...

Well yes, and it was my fault for scheduling her, even though I had no way of knowing those extra volunteers would show up, and I wasn't the one who talked to her, and she was the one who chose to leave. Whatever. lol

I'm going to do a spell to set your evil twin free. On the more serious side, I cannot believe this man had the gall to chew you out when he was there for the daughter to do community service. (I'm taking it that was who broke the law). I admit that it is possible the trip took over an hour if there was traffic, or such but that is not your fault it is his poor planning. As my hubby likes to remark "Failure to plan on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part". I hope that you're finding some good volunteers who are there to help because they truly want to help, not because someone made them help. I would take satisfaction in knowing that you are the bigger person for not responding to him after his nastygram or even writing him a new letter after you found out the facts. Let another organization deal with his thoughtlessness. It will be a wonder if the daughter ever learns selflessness. Namaste-Anora

I did write to him and explain the situation, which was that they showed up at an agreed upon time, but that an unexpectedly large number of volunteers had shown up unplanned, and that our adoption manager had given them the choice of sticking around or coming back later. They chose to leave. But he told me straight out that he considered me responsible since I was the person who had scheduled them. And sure, I felt badly that they left, I would have shown them the ropes, but they did choose to leave. He responded with an even nastier e-mail, and I just decided at that point that "ignore" was the best option, evil twin or no. Perhaps picking up trash will prove to be more satisfying.
