Thanks for the info. I still not received it, but it may happen at any time, and with any site. This is fake, plain and simple, it expects to collect PayPal data and steal our accounts. I can't remember how many times I've seen similar messages from many sites (banks, PayPal, Facebook, etc) to just steal data. But people still falls into the trap, so the warn is much welcome. I think our main defense against this is our common sense. No serious site will ever ask you to login and put personal info, it's logic only. They have your phone, they'll call you if they REALLY have to, which is very unlikely. But unfortunately, we are more stupid than the scammers and still fall into the trap.

I was not aware of this happening, so I appreciate the information. I suppose I would be leary though if I receive it as I have had my account for a while now and there would be no reason to re-verify. But good to know as perhaps one day I would be going to fast and not put my thinking cap and be tramped with this. Thanks

i get these emails often but luckily i have the sense not to act on it. I am sure though that there are many people who have given the details and it would cause so much trouble and heartache for them. Why do people need to send emails like this to gain money? It is awful and i would wish that they were being tracked and caught and sentenced to a lengthy prison sentance as that is what they deserve.

I get at least one or two of these emails a year. I never open anything like this and I have forwarded one or two of them to paypal in the past and they said to just ignore them as they would always use my name in any emails they might send me. If you notice when you get these spam emails they never have your name. That's because they don't know your name because they aren't legit. Makes sense. When I get these emails now I just send them straight to my spam mail and then delete them as I don't even want it on my computer at all because they are trying to get my information so they can access my paypal account. Cheers and Happy Mylotting my friend, Chris

Nothing personal but I don't understand why people fall for fake emails from websites. No website will ever ask you for your password/username or any other personal information via email! Also, always check the URL of the link within the EMAIL and check if it's the correct one. If not, just ignore the email. Yet a lot of people still fall for this stuff. Urghhh!

yes paypal occasionally sends out warnings telling us not to open these pishing scam emails supposedly from PayPal.Np legitimate site will sned you such an email so do not ever never under any circumstances open them and give them your personal ID. that's what they want a way to get your money by getting your ids. do not do anything but deletes thes false emails.

If I get any messages from PayPal that I think are important or fakes, I go through a fresh screen into my account to see if there are messages there. If there aren't, I've protected my account.
