I wonder what Prompted this Pnoy to have said such... I guess since the Election is over, you are now ready to stand on any one for a debate since in the position. whereas during the election you had three arsenals; the media, supporters and you're parent's reputation in politics in our history. Maybe I could have agree If you mentioned Let's just talked and not word fight. but I've read in the Inquirer, you want WAR with words, that means you prefer debates with the Communist Rebels? The word debate itself has touch a nerve (my nerve that is) there Not a referral Link. http://newsinfo.inquirer.net/inquirerheadlines/nation/view/20101204-307056/Aquino-Lets-just-debate I wish you could have been specify that "Just talk and send you're negotiators in(including foreigners)" plan and not debate. for me, i think there is still a difference between a peace talks and a fierce debate. i don't know if the Rebels have the intellectual capacity to handle a Civil Debate. if not, you might end up pissing them off killing you're negotiators Unfortunately, I have doubts about this latest negotiations with Rebels. So, I hope you Prove me Wrong. It would be "DAY" if the President HIMSELF (with out foreign facilitators or local negotiators) would just do the DEBATE thing with the Communist Rebels (on his Own, with out reading) while the rest, just watch. Of course Not, For all we know, it's suicide. I mean, you have said this before(URL LINK), how are we supposed to know that you aren't gonna change you mind again, and back out. not referral LINK. http://www.journal.com.ph/index.php/top-stories/5028-noynoy-debates-just-waste-of-time.html Sorry for the Rant, Next time he should not take credit on the Negotiators. yes, he should just said "Let's not fight but Please Talk, to my Negotiators"

I'd say, Finish them OFF before they turned this COuntry into a ZOmbie like North Korea. but i guess with the number of the Soldiers, i doubt there's a chance even charging them on the Mountains.

Hello Nobody4me, I believe such another huge offensive could lessen military strength. I mean no disrespect but the Philippine army in this country only consist of One hundred thousand plus protecting almost 80 million people while the rebels who hide in teh mountains and forest are generally numbering to 7,000 troops. unlikely, with out latest technology can they beat the rebels in time.

HIM? DEBATE? That's a laughed I mean to say, the Presidential Electorate Debate during the Election period was the most important debate for our country. and then after such challenging words, he just back out of it. of course, in this case, if he does then the intellect of this rebels aren't as above as he is. If the intellectual preference of the Communist leaders were as smart and as Aggressive as Gibo Teodoro, and Richard Gordon, he'd probably finish them off like what ERAP did with the Muslim Rebels

The past candidates have absolutely nothing to do with this negotiation. i suggest we move on right there. but you have a point, i think the president doesn't stand a chance if the rebels were a lot more starter than him

Hello jean, Well, I guess he'd better be careful saying his words, quite strangely no one seemed to be shining about this kind of response coming from the Presidentbut i general understanding, it is a bit of a solution in having the rebels with the government offcials and just plain talked and not debate.

I understand you dear, But the question is, do you have a better alternative? The military sad to say isn't strong enough to bring down the rebels altogether since we lack a lot of military equipment and good leadership. not to mention some are even collaborating with them that until now they have not been exposed. Please Have Faith If i say there is such thing as a Civil and Friendly debate that wouldn't raise eyebrows

Hello Mikaela_taz25, Yeah, Like NUKE em (Joke). No, i don't think so really but my point is that it's not easy to just go for peacetalks but i guess this is his leadership that will wait that leadership that has to perform task.

Cut them of their financial support regards to Revolutionary tax, probably cut them off for good. that will slowly die them out. negotiations doesn't last forever on my opinion. and having foreign facilitators proves the incompetency of the government. so, i agree with you if you didn't agree with him using the word DEBATE :D

I don't know what to say, but I don't want to say that our President can't debate. Remember, he is the only son of one great debater and speaker, Ninoy Aquino. He may have shown to some timidity and softness with his speech but it doesn't mean that he can't debate. I think it's about time to hear him out.

Hello cutie, Well, Ninoy was one of the best debaters. But from what i have seen during the elections, he can't really express himself with civility unless it fits for him. during the entire debate regarding halalan, Gordon or Gibo was one of the known best speakers and debaters. they can explain better in comes to country's biggest problems.

Actually Mr. President said that because he wants to do in legal process but if he want he can talk to them and debate with them. If he do that what is the role of negotiator? Our President have many things to do other than that. Actually that why he have various branches of his government in our to do their duty. I did not see any president negotiated or debate to the rebels, only I seen in the movies... see you around

Hello Visavis, Well, that has always been the procedure with regards to peace talks and nothing more from that.. I agree, of course, he could have just said straight, debate with my negotiators wow i like to see movies that President debates with terrorist except in the movie airforce one
5 Dec 10
The reason why he said that because he's the President and these negotiators are part of this team in the government. of course, you can't literally expect him to go head on with the rebel leaders or with Joma Sison himself, i don't he stand a chance at all. He doesn't. It's always involved the third party and never the government alone
