Travelling by air, sea, or land? Which is the safest?

I love to travel, most of the time I decide to take the airplane because of it's convenience and to save time. They say traveling by air is the safest route, but still every time I got inside the plane, I couldn't deny that there is something inside of me that bothers me, I have a little discomfort for fear of the unknown. I still push through with it for the necessity is much more important than my fears. In the Philippines, a lot of sea accidents have been registered, although there are still a number of people who take the vessel to travel. Others take a long drive by traveling by land, everyone has his preference, making me unsure which is really the safest route to travel. What's yours?

I think it's still traveling by air that is the most safest way, it is also convenient way to travel. I also love to travel by land, I love to drive especially with a love one.

everything is safe. whether by air or by sea, its both safe to travel with them because companies have staffs to make sure that they are safe to ride. we have officials that will double check the planes and the vessels. by land, its up to the owner to check whether it is safe to drive the car or if they want they can take a bus. it just so happens that there are things we cant prevent. these are very unusual events thats why we call it 'accidents'. we cannot predict what will happen so we also dont have to judge any of these man made crafts.

I think every way is not safe. I get nervous on all vehicles... but sometimes, we just have to take our chances, to get to a destination.

I like traveling a lot. In my opinion the safest way of travel is by air. According to different statistics the air transport remains one of the safest! Of course, if there's an accident in the mid air there would be no survivors at all. Traveling by car or by bus it just takes longer time and even that you are on the ground it does not mean that you are safe.

Safety is relative. We can hardly choose which one is the safest one. I do really enjoy traveling by land. It's fun for me. I once went by ship, and I got vomit. I'm dizzy in that ship. So I prefer to go anywhere using vehicle. That's cheap and I love that so much. I don't think I can feel the same if I'm in an airplane. Happy day for you all guys.

I think travelling using airplane is the best way to shorten the travel time when we toured to another island. if we use ship to travelling, It will spend most of our vacation time, and on board we will feel bored. the safest, i think it depends on local conditions which will we are headed. So, before we do the tour, should we look for information about the area that we are going.

Traveling overseas is my top hobby. Most of all I like to travel by train when this is possible. On a train I can have a comfortable seat in the daytime and a bunk to sleep during the night. Trains are a quite safe way to travel and if an accident happens then there often are people hurt but they survive. I do tend to feel sea sick on ferries when there are high waves. I have heard about a few accidents at sea. On the ferry are life jackets on a ferry to save people in an accident. Sometimes road accident do happen and this is what happened to my aunt and uncle. They luckily survived the coach crash but sadly not everyone was that lucky. Most plane journeys are safe but in the case of an air crash usually all on board die. The safest way to travel is by train or plane.

I'd say everything has its own risks, just look at the recent Qantas A380 incident, anything could happen. Travelling by sea isn't that good either because of pirates and stormy seas this and that. Land so far is the safest but some clown will create an accident out of the ordinary. Nowadays, planes are designed with the safest features so you don't need to worry. Cars are made with safety in consideration too. For me, I prefer planes because of my passion in them and also, it's convenient, as you said.

I still believe air travel is the safest--planes are inspected numerous times before take-off, there is less "traffic," far less chance of being harmed because of carelessness. I think the nervousness you may feel boarding a plane may be one that many people feel--not so much a fear of flying but a fear of giving up control. I say enjoy the trip and keep on traveling--whichever way(s) you feel comfortable with.

Hi lexie, same here I'm feeling nervous whenever I board in an airplane but I have to. Traveling by sea still not safe and traveling by land is time consuming so what ever ways we travel I just pray that no accidents will happen.
