My friend is asking me how to prevent having scar from a cigarrete burn because she accidentally got one in her wrist while she was walking in the street near our house, because a man was running and he bumped into her, making his cigarrete burn in her wrist... i was told that it's difficult to remove such wound or the scar will be difficult to fade, what should she do?

I guess it really all depends on how bad the burn is and how deep it is into her skin. I once burnt myself on a match...I dropped it and it landed on my leg. It hurt and left a mark but went away in no time. I would imagine that her scar won't stick around too long unless she somehow burnt herself really deep. She could cover it up using makeup until the scar is gone.

Hello If it's a keloid, you can use Contractubex. It's an ointment that can heal scars. Very effective.

thanks for your response..i think she has contractubex, though her wound does not have any scars yet.. as it has just happened two days ago.. i will tell her that she can use it, in case it will be a keloid..

I think one of the best ways to prevent a scar from a burn is to treat the burn right away. Apply cold water immediately. Also, start using a cream like maderma as soon as possible. There is another cream out there that is good for burns, but I can not even think of the name right now. Also, never put butter on a burn..that will hold the heat in and make sure the burn gets plenty of air during the day. Apply a band aid at night.
