Are you glad this Holiday season is almost over?

I enjoy the holidays because it's about being with family and the family unity. I love that. I have a great family and wow we have such a great time. However, I look forward to the whole shopping gift giving part of it to be over. Don't get me wrong... I love giving my family gifts. I love the looks on my kids when they get what they ask for. Or finding that perfect funny gift for my aunt who is the best funny gift giver ever. But the stress of finding that great gift, the omg where will get find the extra money from.... Although you love some parts of the holidays, are you as happy as I am that the holidays are almost over?

Charlie Brown Christmas Tree - Here's my little tree for this year. It's all I want and might be all I ever have in the future. Isn't it cute? I love it!
If it weren't for one friend and her family coming over every year to celebrate Christmas here with me, I'd probably just give up on the whole holiday thing. I've already decided not to decorate, even to the point of having no Christmas tree, at least this year. I have no friends or family who live near enough to decorate with and I really don't like doing it alone... it makes me so sad. My husband doesn't care at all. (I did buy a Charlie Brown Christmas Tree because I fell in love with the pathetically cute little thing... photo below.) I do love to cook and bake for the holidays, though. I've already started with candies and cookies. I love home-baked Christmas goodies and love to feed people so I don't have a problem with that part of the holidays... everyone seems happy to receive these edible gifts so it really works for me. I also start making everyone Christmas gifts right after Christmas one year to give the following year. I make jewelry, knit, crochet and do other crafts so a lot of what I give is hand-made. I even make little holders for gift cards... I like to really personalize them for each person. But, like you, I'm glad to see the holidays end and have things return to normal. Oh, they're never far from normal around here all through the holidays but I really hate going shopping with all the mad shoppers out there. I try to live a stress-free life or as close to it as possible and usually enjoy shopping but not when the stores are bursting at the seams with shoppers. Yeah, I'll be glad this holiday season is over once it is.

Thank you, nut. It's in my bay window in the livingroom right now. It was SO easy to decorate! When I told my son about it, he said he wanted one. I also told my friend who spends Christmas with me about it and she said she wanted one, too. So, when I bought mine, I also bought three more. I added the extra one for my other son who will probably want one as soon as he sees it.

Yes I am glad that the spending part is almost over as alot of people overspend during the holiday season.I am still buying stuff for gifts for my family and friends and I have already spent well over 500 dollars in total.I should try to cut back some as I do not want to much on my credit card statement when I look in January.I really love the holiday season and the time I will get off as normally I do not even get a single day off in the week due to me being in college and working part time on both Saturday and Sunday at 6am.With all of the overspending I feel people should think before they buy and see whether or not they can pay it back in a reasonable about of time.

Yes, it seems like such a forced holiday and since it only happens once a year people go overboard. I like a simpler holiday time such as being with family. Gifts are nice but they are not the whole reason for Christmas.

It makes me happy to have this holiday season come around. people are more giving to each other. It is a feeling that should be shared throughout the year. it is a bit disappointing to see the holiday season come to an end.

Oh my heavens, girl, the holidays haven't even started yet let alone kids outta school yet! Gifting doesn't have to be so expensive, even the simplest of things that they use on a daily basis wrapped up in a homemade gift bag, or something nice can suffice. My issue with xmas is that there's a lot of fighting. My husband and I both grew up in a WWF-style home it seemed like, especially around xmastime. I've tried so hard to put a stop to them, and even tried to ban the holiday in my home. HAH!!! ya right! And I can't wait until the junk-eating-pigout fest is over, as well, because I seriously need to cut back but my husband is insisting that there's lots of goodies around. Oh well, one day at a time, I suppose

I really do wish it was done. I do love watching their faces when they open the presents, going and looking at lights, and pageants and shows.

My husband and I have taken the pressure out of the holidays, by getting together with family members individually, and by going away for Christmas. I'm looking forward to the vacation we are going to take, but I am in no hurry for the holiday to be over, because that would mean the end of our vacation. LOL

No I'm not glad its almost over. I have a lot of shopping left to do. I pretty much have nothing for anyone lol. I also just love this time of year. The excitement of waiting for Christmas to arrive. I love getting together with family. I love seeing all the Christmas decoratios.

hi 34momma Christmas season here in a reirement home is not just what I would have wanted, oh Iknow I must be greatful for a roof over my head a place to sleep and food every but rem, ember I am also letting them take four fifths of my social security and SSi checks each month and get back one hundred twenty five for personal needs. so it is not free then add 39 dollars for my net bill that I must p ay each months and for being where I never w anted to be. My son had a parttime job for thre months now the boss has cut him to one day a week so he has to look for another job. so Christmas brings some sort of painful things to deal with and gift giving is hard on a tight budget, I love the s e ason but no Gold Crest. I am happy as sad just makes me ill.but yes I will be glad when I have done what I can for gifts to my son and its time for a New Year with hopes of changes for this little Hatley family.

Hmm...as I'm studying at a tertiary instituition, my holidays are irregular. So next week is the start of my exams and after that it's two weeks of holidays. Well, if I were in high school, then the holidays are normal and I would be a bit happy and lso feel a little bit reluctant coz I want to enjoy a bit more haha
