Trying to charge more

I caught the vet receptionist trying to charge me more. Normal vaccinations cost £28 per dog and she wanted me to pay £42 per dog for a starting again program. She tried to make out that my dogs Secret and Magic were last vaccinated in 2008. Well, I didn't think so because in July 2010 I phoned them to check my dogs were protected when there was an outbreak of a particular disease. I looked in my filing cabinet and found my dog's vaccination records. These confirm to me they were both vaccinated in December 2009. The receptionist said that her computer records were not up to date. Do you think the vets were trying to charge more? What would you have done if you knew something was done in 2009 and they said it was was done in 2008? Have you ever been charged more than you think was right?

That's awful! Unfortunately mistakes are made all the time. I guess we are human. As far as prices go...man are they going up! You never know if you're being mis charged or if a price has really just gone up! This happened to me the other day..I ordered my favorite meal at a restaurant and the price had almost doubled since the last time I had been there. I asked about it and they said that because times are tough they had to hike up their prices. Had I known that I would've never bought the lunch that I did. It's so unfortunate.

I'm puzzled at this as to why they'd charge you more for the same vaccination whether you were a regular or not...or would it involve extra treatment to bring the dog "up to speed",so to speak? It sounds very sloppy and incompetent of them to not have their records up to date.Couldn't that lead to issues if they decided to overtreat a pet if their records didn't show the correct status? It's good you caught that, but hopefully if they had got away with overcharging you, being able to produce the invoice proving them wrong would have gotten you a refund and an apology..

Could just be poor record keeping, but good that you caught it. If it happens once only, Ok, but if it happens a lot, I'd find another vet.

We have to be so careful as so many errors are made by people that we would normally trust. I was paying for a doctor's visit and one of my health cards was not used so the receptionist charged me more. When I queried this she said that it was a government health card and that they are late in making payment to the doctor. Well, I am sorry that they are tardy in reimbursing the doctor but that is not my problem. I was entitled to an extra $500 off my bill. In your case it would seem that they were trying to charge more. Computer records not being updated is the excuse that is normally used. I am glad that you were on top of it though

I think it is very unprofessional in doing so. For me, I shall keep quiet and pay everything they asked for. Besides, I shall ask for the full details of the charges as an evidence. Then I shall disclose all of my suspicious in the newspapers and their society to ask for my right. This people should be punished because of their dishonest.

It's hard to say, it could have been a mistake. When I took my puppies in for their distemper shot, they had given Ciara a rabies shot as well before I knew what was happening. Both my puppies got a rabies shot when I had them spayed at another facility and I had told the vet this when we took her in to get her ears checked. But I guess the receptionist or the vet make a note of it. When I insisted both my puppies had their rabies and that I will bring in the paperwork, the receptionist took off the money for the rabies shot.

If the case is charging in front of you other than the actual charge that is cheating and you must aware of that.. That awful that you can control such move and action.. some people are like that trying to cheat other for their own benefits... see you around
