Do you take breaks from myLot?

Hello friends, I joined myLot more than two years ago and in this time I have taken a few breaks. Some of them have been intentional and the last one, which lasted about 18 months, was purely due to my office work and stuff. I am curious to know if any of you have been through this? Do you take intentional/unitnentional break from myLot? If yes, how does it feel when you get back? I feel really great to see my old friends here and make some new ones.

Hi dear, I am a new bee from Mumbai for here about 8-9 months. As I am not way from my regular things, there were no chance to get a break for a long period. In fact, I was not used to with on Saturday and Sundays and I am using myLot in these days as well, so I am closers to it. But I have few friends of 3-4 years old also. I cannot say that I will take a break for a long period, because I don’t have a reason for it now. However, I think your coming back to myLot might be feel happy, and same time depressed of losing the old friends too. Best regards, Thank-s

Hello friend, Man, just 9 months are you're ahead of me in terms of participation. I joined more than two years ago but spent about 15 months in breaks. Its really nice to see people who have been here for many months. Its inspiring, actually.

Hi dear, I am sure, it is really inspiring. There is nothing too much so attractive, but the simplicity and normal way of working with myLot is really feel good. Now-a-days, I got a feel that it is part of my daily routine. If I could not spend 2-3 hrs. a day, I feel missing something. Also, there are few regular people, not just people, they are become good friends also. It made me a regular practice and I am enjoying also by participating all the things around. Also, some of the topics are inspiring too. Regards, Thank-s

I've taken a 3-year break from mylot and I don't intend to do that anymore. I'm happy here and being busy won't stop me from logging in when I can.

i have to say yes to this too, and it can be both intentional and unintentional. before, i used to enjoy coming here often and respond to discussions. but nowadays, i tend to get lazy and decide to leave it till the next day to reply if there is an interesting topic. or sometimes, i don't really get much topic that are to my interests or that i know how to respond to. as for friends, since i'm kind of anti-socail, i don't have many close friends here. the friends that i do have, they post, and if i'm interested, i post. it's not like we're buddies and all. there's the distance. but when i do come here sometimes, i enjoy my time as i get to learn many things as well as contribute whatever little experiences i do have.

oohh, if i had personal messages, i'm sure i'd reply to them although i'm not sure about others. but i myself have never left any for others so i can't really say anything there. i agree most of us here only want to earn, thus we don't do much socialising. but for me, rather than that, laziness is the main reason why i become inactive too. good day

Hello friend, Even I found out over the months that you don't feel attached to the friends here. Most of them would not even respond to personal messages. It seems they are only bothered about earning activities, which includes replying to discussions and starting new ones. Laziness is a trait I share as well and it has been one of the prime reasons I seem inactive here.

Of course.^_^ I think everyone in this site does. The question is, whether the user would just be back in the future or actually gone for good(maybe they forgot about the site or something to that effect). I am actually just returning from a break. Ive been gone for 2 weeks here and my mail is piling up with notifications which I had intended to clean up by year's end. Im just going to respond to those that I can at this time and maybe catch up during the days when there isnt any work or school. I thought I didnt miss myLot and am thinking more of the mail pile actually, but now that Im here and responding again, I find that I did miss typing in rapid fire succession, my fingers trying to keep up with my thoughts as I respond to a discussion. I missed the people on here too and my friends whom I havent been able to speak to from some time. I guess that's just how it is. Welcome back!^_^

Thanks a lot for such a descriptive response, friend. Actually, I have now taken about 3 long breaks from Mylot since the time I fist posted this discussion! The speciality of this site is that you will come back for sure, after whatever time.

I take well deserved breaks from different sites. At times one gets bored or tired of a site, so a break helps to re-energize you. Sometimes a health problem, job or family situation will also take one away from sites for sometime. It is always nice to get back to the sites and reconnect with family and friends.

Very true, MaryLynn, There can be a host of reasons to get a break. Some are in our control, some aren't. But the best part is that people do come back here, no matter how long the break was.Well, most of them anyway.

I totally agree jshekhar. I have bouts of depression that also will keep me away from sites. There are many health and personal reasons that will cause people to stay away from sites or the computer. But, as you say it the people come back no matter the reason or length of there break.

I am a member for more than a year here and i have took a 7 month, more or less, break already. I should say that that 7 months was 7 consecutive months. Only logging in to check out if my earnings are still there. And when i came back i really felt that i really miss myLot a lot. I never had long breaks here after that. When i came back, i really felt more fun and have learned so much here already.

Hello Gaiza, A 7-month break already in a year, wow.. that seems a bit like me, with 15 months of inactivity in my two years here. And here we are. Both of us are back which signifies how much we missed Mylot. I hope we keep having fun here and never go on long breaks.

Yes, i just wish i can have access to the internet most of the time so i can never be leaving myLot. Sometimes it's just hard to get online when you work requires you to be offline. Good luck to us all!!

Last winter I took off time away from myLot. Was doing other programs to earn and put myLot on the back burner. I always come back since I've been a member for about 4 years. This has been a fun and interesting site and the extra money is always a plus. Only time I've taken an unintentional break was when my computer needed to be replaced.

I am sure other people take breaks from Mylot too, but you will find that like me, most of them come back here again eventually! It is always nice to read what people write and to comment about it. I might be busy with other things, but ML always seems to be there and is constant, which is nice!

In the 4 years I have been a member I have taken a few weeks when I do not do much if any posting. I still read the notifications and daily digest but I do not have much interest. However I always come back and pick up from where I left off. I get burned out and so many of the discussion have been posted before.

Hello whiteheather, Repeatitive discussions are a prime reason we get bored at times. That makes you want to run away for a while and then you come back one fine day and there will be new discussions from your interest, which draws you in again.

I took a break for a while because a lot of my friends had dropped off too. Facebook came along and I had to catch up with people I knew from school and jobs I've had over the years. Its nice to visit with them again but my myLot friends are ones that I may never meet but I feel a connection to them. It doesn't matter what country they live in, I can still chat with them and know about their lives through myLot. I came back and most of my friends were still here.

Hello friend, You're so correct. Mylot gives you a different kind of society, different from the day to day scenarios where we have to keep worrying about anything and everything. Nice to have fellow members who think like that.

I do not plan to take break from MyLot but sometimes that is forced on me. I do not get time in office and no time at home as well and that is when I am not coming on MyLot. two week back I was on vacation and could come to MyLot during that time. My break from MyLot is unintentional for sure . Thank you for sharing.

Thanks for such an honest opinion, Ajay. Most of my breaks from ML have also been unintentional but at times I feel lazy enough to come back here. Once my break was so long that my account got wiped off and I had to create a new ID. But still, I did that and here I am!!!

Its good to take a break from posting here if you are hyper active in mylot.Taking a break will help you to revitalize your energy and think of some more discussions. But in my case i never take a break from mylot because its so interesting and i never get bored of posting here. Sometimes when iam not active here is because of my exams and everyone knows how important they really are.But when i log into Mylot again i kind of feel the freedom ,the freedom of speaking your mind out!

Hello friend, Thanks for taking out time to reply. Actually it has always been the same with me. Almost all of my breaks from mylot have been due to exams. Now that I am a working man, I still sometimes feel too lazy to log in because of my daily time table. Enjoy.

I take breaks but not very long breaks. I will take like a few day breaks. Not really because I am sick of it, more because I get busy and don't have time for it. I would do mylot everyday if I could. I do get tired of it like i im on here for a long time though, like not for the next day just for that time period. I also don't always answer. I know that you do not get any money i you do not answer the blogs or make any real activity, but sometimes I really just like coming on here and reading what other people are talking about. Most the time when I do that i do not have attentions on getting on here just to read, but then I get so carried away with reading them that I do not respond to them. When I do not respond most the time I think of what I would say but I do not type it. Is that weird? I do not know if I just get to lazy to type it or if I don't have enough interest to type it. I do love it when I get on here and type more than I though I would, which happen to me this time. One thought just lead to another thought and I end up with a whole paper. Haha. When I answer a bunch though sometimes I think I get more money than I do. Which makes me think maybe my answers weren't actually as long as I thought they were. Or my responses weren't really well thought out. But do people really plan what they are going to write out. I mean sure you have an idea of what you are going to say but it is not like I make a rough draft of my post. I just start writing then I write what comes to mind. It is nice to free write like that sometimes. To free write and not worry about grammer and punctuation. I mean I think about it to where it is readable but not like a teacher was reading it or anything. haha. okay happy posting.

Hello friend, Thanks for taking out time to respond. I don't think its weired at all. At times I also like to just be here and read what so many people want to share. That it doesn't make any money for me is fine with me as long as I find peace here.

I have been a member for more than 4 years here. I was not too active initlaly during the first year but after thta I have been regular. But. at times, I would have other commitments and I won't participate on a regular basis. However, I would peep in , drop a comment or two and then push off. I have been away for 2 months or 3 but even then I would peep in occasionally once a week or so.

Hello friend, Nice to see someone who has been here for that long a time. There were times during the last two years of my stay here when I completely felt like giving up as I had absolutely no time at all. That was the time when I take a break, hoping to come back refreshed and it helps.

I haven't taken any long breaks but I have had times when I wasn't as active. It's usually because of my work or homework load that depends on my activity here. I usually get on every day but there have been a few times when I could only get on a couple of times a week. It's great to see you back on. I hope everything has been well for you.

Exams, those dreaded times. Of all my breaks, I think exams have played a major part here. And then they spoil your habit, change your time table completely and then you don't feel like coming back, as you have to alter your time table again.

Hello Jacobus, I couldn't agree to you more. I do that time to time. I would switch off my cell phone, go away to the countryside and relax for a day or two over the weekend. It rejuvenates me like nothing else, being away from all the electronic gadgets around me all the time and having some time to watch the nature, have a walk in the breeze, etc.

Hello Harry, All the best for your exams friend. My first break from mylot was also due to exams. After that, I gradually fell out of habit and then started working. My break, as I've shared in my post, extended to about 18 months! I hope its not the case with you and you come back real fast after getting done with your exams.
