Ouch! I need cheering up...

It's all-out winter around here. The snow's falling all the time, the wind is cold and unfriendly and because for the last two days it was slightly warmer, the streets and sidewalks and every horizontal surface really are covered in this thin layer of ice. And I slipped on it on my way to work. I fell so hard, some guy had to help me get up. My knees hurt terribly (thank goodness the skin didn't break and my pants didn't tear) and my arm too (I think because I tried to lessen the fall with it). Basically my entire body hurts and I'm all ready for winter to be over. I feel miserable, and I was hoping you guys could cheer me up. What do you do when you hurt or feel bad? Any failproof pick-me-up techniques?

Hi, Don't be sad....fall down is just a small matter. Since it has over...then forget about it and start your new life. Of course, your body will be pain now..slowly it will recover back. If you feel fit enough, then out for shopping or movie with your friends. or just do some online shopping to pamper yourself since Christmas is on the way. You have to think positively and whatever has happened,it is over.

While I might not be up to walking around the shopping mall, I'll definitely pamper myself In fact, I'm thinking hot bubble bath, lemon tea and maybe some junk food to make up for the pain. Yes, I will have to consider going to the gym, but it should lift my spirits Thank you so much for responding

My favorite is Hot Toddies. A glass of hot water or hot black tea, a jigger of whiskey, a bit of lemon, and a drop of honey.

Sorry to hear about your fall. When it is cold outside and I ache all over I feel better after a hot bath and curling up in my favorite chair with a cup of hot chocolate or hot tea, depending on my mood. I hope this helps you too!

I'm sorry you had such a bad day. A sure fire way for me to cheer up is to go to icanhascheezburger and their family of sites. A few minutes of laughter and I'm right as rain.

Will you believe that I've never actually visited icanhascheezburger? But it's true! I've encounter various macros in the past (LOLcats are, afterall, everywhere), but I've never been to the actual site. Thank you so much for the suggestion!

Wow! Congratulation for a very lucky day. Why I say you are lucky? Because today, you just felt bad. It means, soon you would be feeling nice and happy. Being always happy would be boring. But if you felt lonely, sorry or sad, when something funny comes your way, you will feel the real sense of happiness. Cheer up now. :)

I'm sorry to hear that. Hearing this made think about times when I am a freshmen. It remind me the winter of 2007,when i'm a freshmen in the school. The heavy snow throughout all winter. I just want to say that everything will be better.when you hurt or feel bad ,you can do something you favourate. You can have a good rest, you can have some reading, you can do some sports, you can cook something yourself. There are so many things you can do.

Last year around this time, I took a pretty nasty fall. It had been raining out, and I had wooden steps, and I was going outside for something, and as soon as my feet hit those slick wooden steps, my feet slipped right out from under me and I landed on the ground on my back. There were 2 more steps, and I hit those going down. My back looked like someone smacked me with a 2 by 4, and it hurt like crazy too. I couldn't walk at first!! Fortunately, I didn't have to go to work, so I went back in and got in bed! The best thing you can do at work is drink something warm like coffee or warm tea and take some pain reliever. Hopeully you don't have a job that requires you to stand all day? And maybe eating some chocolate will help? Chocolate always makes me feel better, lol. Then when you get home, take a hot bath or shower and get in some comy pjs and get in bed and listen to some good music, or watch a good movie!! Relax!

I hate winter as well calajane. I want it to end as soon as it had started. I am so scared of falling from walking on snow or slippery ice. It's so cold and I cannot bear the cold weather. I think the best pick-me-up technique is to get a good weekend treat for yourself. Say, a relaxing bath, a hot chocolate drink with marshmallows on top or whipped cream, a no-chore day (if possible), a DVD marathon of your favorite TV series (if you have one), a relaxing massage from a spa. :)

Having a good sleep always makes me better.

Unfortunately I can't sleep for the next several hours, but I agree. Tomorrow, after a good nnight's sleep, things will definitely look better
