Do you like traveling by land?

I love to travel by train most of all. In the day time it is possible to see the landscape out of the window. It is a superb way to see a country instead of fly over it in a plane. Some countries have a wonderful train system and are a joy to travel on. When there isn't a train I will happily go on a bus or a coach. Do you like traveling by land? Which is your favorite way to travel: by train or bus? Why? Have you ever traveled on another form of land transport? If so how was it?

Car? Well that's how I travel by land here in the US anyway. I did enjoy train travel in Europe, bus not so much. Problem with driving though is that my back gets unhappy sitting for so long. At least on a train you can get up and walk.

It is lovely you enjoyed traveling by train in Europe. Bus seats tend to be uncomfortable for long journeys. The USA is very large but I can imagine by car is convenient if it is a shortish sort of journey. It is a shame about your backache.

It is a shame that you suffer from travel sickness and fumes from a bus bother you. I am pleased you are comfortable and happy in your car traveling along.

Car is nice for long drives, actually. You can stop wherever you want whenever you want. The diesel fumes in buses bother me. I'm prone to car sickness anyway, and it's much worse in a bus than in a car.

I have not done much traveling yet but I so far I like riding trains. I have never rode a plane but the idea of flying makes me feel iffy but I also don't plan on having the money to travel by plane so the cheaper options will be my choice.

I hope that you will be able to do lots more traveling by train in the future. In some countries train travel is very cheap. Like in Poland I had written out "please can have a second class train ticket"? They ended up giving me a first class ticket each time but it was still quite cheap.

The train is by far the best. I've been fond to trains since I was a child, my father and my brothers love them too. I think it runs in the family, my grandpa worked with trains somehow (ticket seller I think). As you mentioned, you get to witness sceneries that are not available by car or airplane. I dislike cars, I think they're much more stressful than trains.

I am really glad to hear that you like traveling by train the most. It must have been interesting for your grandpa to work as a train ticket seller. When traffic is busy I imagine you find the car travel bothersome. My sister and her husband found the motorway was closed due to an accident. There was fog and they had a long and challenging route home.

It's great pleasure to travel in a car,you can stop wherever you want to have a good look at the scene.Looking outside in a train is like watching a movie, also enjoyable. Travelling on foot is likely to be the most popular way, especially in mountains, join the nature.!

Sometimes on a train and on a bus I have wanted it to stop for a photo opportunity. When moving along it can be challenging to take a photo when on a moving train or bus. I love the way you describe what a train journey is like.

I like to travel by land and air.If you travel by land, you will take hours to arrive at your destination. It's so traffic in our place.I like to travel by car not bus.By air,you will take a few hours. Then you will arrive at your destination. You will arrive on time.I haven't travel any transportaion by land.I have tried to ride a jeep in the Philippines. It is cool. But scary if you are riding alone.

The jeeps rides in the Philippines sound very interesting. It is a shame that you find traffic jams when you travel in urban areas by bus. Leaving from a bus station is quick and easy compared with going from an airport.

I like to travel by land, plane, train or boat! Regardless of the way, I enjoy traveling very much, as it entertains me, broadens my horizons and helps me to meet new people!

I am glad that you have chatted to people on the trips that you have done. You seem to enjoy all sorts of different transport.

I also love travelling by land. Flying is faster, but when I choose to fly I only see one thing and that is my destination. When I travel by land I am able to see a lot more. I like to look at the landscape while I am travelling. I recently travelled around in Europe by train and I am very happy that I chose that kind of transportation, because I saw a lot of things that I wouldn't have seen from a plane. I passed many different countries, I didn't have the chance to visit all of them, but I got a glimpse of them through the window and that was interesting. If I have to travel a long distance I prefer travelling by train. I often travel by bus as well, but if I have to travel for many hours it is more comfortable to travel by train. Last summer I spent 30 hours on a bus and that was a little too much. I like to travel by bus because that also gives me the chance to look at the landscape, but I prefer relatively short distances.

It was lovely that you traveled around Europe by train seeing the landscapes from ground level. I would be happy traveling on trains for any amount of time but on bus the time is limited. I think a 30 hour bus journey would be a long one. I hope that you will do lots more happy train journeys seeing a lot out of the window.

Hello maximax, First of all, let me congratulate you for your presence here. I tooko a long break from myLot last year, which extended to almost 18 months. I come back today, and still I see you here with the same enthusiasm. Kudos to that [em]thumbup[\em] Coming to the topic, I must confess I like travelling by train a lot. In fact, if I have company I prefer train to flights or buses. We in India have probably the world's largest train network and I try to make use of it to the fullest. When I was in college I used to travel up to 38 hours by train to reach my home and since we were a huge group of friends we didn't mind that one bit.

Hello again Jshekhar. It is wonderful to see you back on excellent My Lot. Yes, I am still on lovely My Lot and enjoying it very much indeed. India has a very impressive train system. When you were a student it seemed you chatted with your friends on the way back on the 38 hour train journey and had a great time.

I love travelling by air more, possibly due to my interest in planes. I love travelling by air as it's a kind of enjoyment to be away from my country and the land. I feel free whenever I fly, like a bird. Travelling by land however, is not possible in my country as it's small and the furthest I can travel by land is to Thailand. Such a long distance is not possible for my family as it's really tiring. It's better to take the plane. So far the furthest I travelled to from my country is Penang, Malaysia, by car.

I traveled by train in Malaysia and this was fascinating. Maybe you would find a trip to Indonesia interesting and you could go there by plane. Your home country is very small and I have been to it three times.

Oh yes! I love trains, and especially sleeping on them! Buses are okay too, but I don't really like travelling in a car so much...

It is lovely to sleep in a bunk in a compartment on a train. I like the noise of a train and the gentle motion lets me fall asleep. On a bus there isn't much comfort at night.

I traveled to another state by train, it was great full journey, because i traveled first time, I enjoyed much with outside scenes, fascinating outstanding scene, which i never had seen before, so afterward, i prefer to go by land, although it takes long time to reach the destination, but it depends on land, if we travel through desert area, i think air travelling is better than land.

It is excellent that you have mentioned that it depends on the land. Europe has some very scenic train journeys like Oslo to Bergen past the fjords in Norway. Riding through the desert there would be a lot of sand to see and not much else. In Germany I had the delight of traveling on double decker trains and the views were stunning.

I really hate traveling by land because i have seasickness. Everytime i trvel through bus, maybe i can vomit for maybe 5 times that is why i hate travel. I dont know if how can i prevent this sickness this is one of my biggest problem because as a human we cant really avoid traveling..

There are pressure bands that you could wear on your wrists to avoid travel sickness. You might like to try ginger biscuits. In the future I hope you will be able to feel much better on the journeys that you do.
