Gas prices are gettin' me down

I am so upset, I had a little bit of money set aside to buy for Mom, my new grandbaby, my daughter and son'n law, but I have to buy gas each week, and the amount I did buy weekly is not getting me through, so my gass money is coming out of what I'd set aside for Christmas. Well, I guess that's what it's like right now. The economy stinks, and everytime I think I'm making headway, something like that gets pulled off. I'd like to twist some heads.

Are you buying more gas now than before? Perhaps there's something you can do to change that... Carpooling, not going to unnecessary places, etc etc. Gas prices went up about 10 cents per gallon, but that's still only an extra $1. It hardly hurts, adding a whopping $4 per month onto my gas expenses. $4 for me wouldn't buy very many Christmas presents.. Anyway perhaps either there's something that you can do to reduce your gas usage, or another way that you can lighten your spending to be able to buy Christmas presents! Good luck though.

Four dollars is alot for me at this time. I never would have thought I'd be saying that someday, but wallah! It's my turn, but things are turning around. I am picking up on online earnings, plus--plus, I turn 62 in June and I get to draw SSI. Fabulous. I can actually stop worrying about the dumb economy and my bills. Plus the sites I'm working on getting up in income will be a super plus, a Also, I buy gas weekly or more often. I do not go anywhere except to my daughter's to babysit and my mom's for the weekend because she has to have 24 hour in house persons. She lives 30 minutes away and back, and my daughter lives 20 minutes away and back. I would only be out about $4 for a week, but I'm out 4 or 5 times that per month. Since someone else is helping me at this time and I don't have a penny of my own except the little money for Christmas, it puts me in a tight spot. You just do't know. Merry Christmas.

Luckily I don't have to deal with gas prices as I don't drive. I am going to be buying myself a bike and then later a moped so that even when I do have to buy gas it won't be nearly as bad. I just don't like the gas prices right now, they're terrible, in California it's like $4.50 a galloon, it needs to go back to like $2.50 or something like that. I'm in NC, so the prices are, I think $3.22? something around that.

I wrote this conversation a while ago, so prices have gone up and they have gone back down and they have gone up again and again and down again and again. I am pretty happy with the prices right now considering they have gone down an awful lot compared to how high they have gotten several different times in the last couple of years. I live in one city and half an hour down the road south, the prices are always 5 to 6 cents higher than here, so when I start to leave for the weekend to go there, I make sure I have the gas to last until I have to come back to my home city. They didn't bother me as much before, but now I have to actually drive each and every day to my daughter's. It doesn't sound like a long way to have to drive each and every day, but it is about 15 to 20 minutes each way, and it does tend to add up. Takes a good $120 chunk from my income each month, and that is a chunk for my income.

Yeah me too. Like whenever i see news that says gas prices will be going up, it's such a downer. You're saving up for an occasion like the holidays and the prices go up and ruins your plans. You'd want to do something but you realize you really can't do anything.

I do know what you mean with gas prices. I have cut many trips and stops with my car as it is way too expensive. I find that due to high costs and no money I have really not gone to any places, unless I truly must as my thought is that the gas costs take up way too much then perhaps I can afford. So I really plan any outings so that I can kill more then one trip at a time. I have also resorted to walking more and at times taken public transportation. But somehow no matter how much we try to get ahead, some unexpected expense falls though, so it is sort of a vicious repetitive cycle, one that being poor we must endure. I saw you are getting SSI soon, Yeah.. good luck and hopes that helps.

Seems that the prices or gas are an issue in many parts of the world. This week my gas bill came, and when I looked at it and noticed it was way more expensive than last month when I had used the same ammount then I noticed something that came attached. It was a notice saying that they were rising the prices of gas. What a horrible way to end the year, with less money in my pocket

Oh gosh. You are so right. It just about makes me sick. If everything wasn't already so high, and money so low, ok then it might not be so bad, but it's so hard to make money nowadays and everything just get higher and higher and higher. Durn. Somethin's gotta give madteaparty!
