Do you get yourself anything when Christmas Shoppping

December 13, 2010 6:24pm CST
It's coming ever closer and there are people to get presents for you but I wonder, do you buy yourself new things at Christmas?. I like to pick up something for myself as there are some great bargains. I usually buy CDs or Fragrance gift sets etc. Do you buy yourself something when shopping for Christmas presents?. What do you buy?

Yes, sometimes I might get myself something. The other day, I was getting some dish towels from Kmart, because they were 60% off and I plan on doing some crafts with them. Well, you know I couldn't resist buying a couple for myself...it was only $1.00 but they will go in with my christmas collection.

Sounds like a bargain. It's worth picking up some bargains.

I usually pick up a thing for myself. When I'm at the after Christmas sales. You save so much money there. Often I have even thought of delaying the big Christmas Celebration in my house until the 27th so we could all take advantage of the cheap deals. This idea hasn't gone over very well though.

If I see something that I like I will buy it and let my husband give it to me as a Christmas gift. I have bought a couple things and told them to give them to me for Christmas. He is also going to go buy me a few things from him that I don't know about. lol

That's a nice idea too. I always find it nice to have a couple of things you have asked for and a couple of things that are a surprise.

My hubby and I actually have a deal where we buy each other Christmas presents BUT we are allowed to fill our own stockings. That way we definitely get some stuff that we want! Not saying that he is that bad of a gifter because we are both pretty good about dropping hints, but once in a while he throws me for a loop and gets me something crazy!

It has worked out perfect every year!

That's a really good idea, It certainly helps you both get the other presents without getting the same thing.

I rarely buy anything for myself but this year I saw some earrings marked down to just a few dollars and they were so beautiful that I bought them. I don't receive any presents at Christmas so I figured I should get them and enjoy them.

I think the great thing about earning online is that you could spend a bit on your own that you may have saved up throughout the year.

If I am buying things for other people, I'm definitely going to treat myself, whether it's just to get a cup of coffee, or a whole new outfit, or a piece of jewelry. If I don't find anything I want at the store, I'll put some money aside, to do something for myself, when the mood strikes.

I have often liked the things I have got for other people so why not get myself one if it's part of a good offer like buy one get one free or three for two or something like that.

Yes, I do , sometimes more than one gift. I shop online and there are so many good deals that I tend of take advantage and spend more than I should. My husband and daughter don't buy me gifts. My husband is just not good at picking out gifts so he usually lets me get what I want, and my daughter doesn't buy gifts for anyone. Well, she did buy me some chocolate covered almonds this year. That was thoughtful of her.

I don't do a lot of shopping during the course of the Year, normally just keeping up with repairs and replacements for myself...Doing some Christmas Shopping recently, having purchased something already for someone, going in to a different retail outlet I can sometimes see yet another suitable gift for them (or for myself!) when I'm really in there just looking for someone else's gift! it's never easy..For example,I was in a sports store today looking for something for my cousin, the football fan,and while in there I was then checking out some winter weather boots for myself as I'm reading the cold weather that moved off last week is due to return...elsewhere I was getting a DVD for the football fan's Sister, and realised a DVD I'd wanted was on the same "Buy 2 and get a discount" offer..Sold!

Hello! Of course, I always buy something for myself whenever I shop around not just this Christmas season. Its my way of rewarding myself for working so hard and it makes me feel always that im much more dominant than my money. That even though im not buying pricey item, I could still enjoy my money even though how little it was. Its an essential thing for me, because from this, I'll be much eager to work for it and makes me realize that life is short so we better enjoy it by buying little things not just for our loved ones but also for our selves...

Thanks for your response. Some very good points there, I agree. I think a lot of people save up some money during the year so they can get themselves something really nice around Christmas time.
