How would you find someone?...

Hi everyone, I would like some advice or help with trying to locate a very special friend I had a few years ago. He used to be in the German airforce and got stationed here in my hometown. Last I heard he was sent back to Germany and I have lost touch with him as well, life happened and I think we both just got too overwhelmed. I have tried looking on people searches, tried looking on myspace, facebook and all those but it is like he dropped off the face of the earth. Please does anyone know how I could locate him to reconnect and just to find out how he is doing. I also forgot his email but I think I know half of it just not if it is a yahoo, or other one. If anyone can help or give advice I would really appreciate it. Thank you all for being so kind and answering all my posts, I really appreciate it so much.

Hmm this is a bit tricky. You can try get in touch with the German ariforce office and try get their assistance. I am sure they will give out any information about him but just to clarify with them if they know where he is located. If they know, ask them for a favor to drop a message or letter to the current position. I hope this helps in some way and good luck!

People tend to keep the mail ids which they would have started at the beginning. May be you have some mail, you can dig out from your inbox and take the mail id. I feel that is the usual trend, people dont like to delete the first mail id they would have created. Wishing you all the best.

If they were a very good friend then I would assume you have their first and last names. If that's the case, then it should be easy to find them. You could just look them up in the phone book or search the first and last name on the internet. But even without the internet (yes, folks, it is possible to imagine that), there are ways of finding people if you know their full name. You might also want to consider if this person wants to be found.

The only suggestion I would have is to try 411. I have had great success with 411, but the last time I used it, it was no help. I finally gave up on my search. If the other person I was looking for wants to find me, he will have to put some work into it :) You can get that website online.
