I just can not figure out the right word for which I am looking for...I have a site where I sell a few of my items that I handmake. I am looking to get into selling a few different items on there but dont want to make them. I am hoping to find a few different other people that have items that i can list and sell on my own website...now my question is this: would I look for wholesalers or suppliers? I just not sure which one is exactly right for what I am wanting...

How about consignment sales? I guess it depends on what it is.

Thanks Garden but no I know what your are talking about but what I am meaning is I need a site to buy products though to sell on my site. Say you are Walmart and you sell fabric, i would like to go to your site to purchase large amounts of fabric so I can then turn around and sell it on my website for profit...I just dont know if I should look for fabric wholesalers or fabric suppliers? Thanks for you response

I would say whole sale outlets, since you want to be a reseller. A wholesaler is what I would look for.

I think it is more profitable to look for the manufacturers and be their direct agent. But wholesalers is also good enough.

Well, I am sure by now you have found your niche with this, and probably getting a steady base of customers. I know it is often hard when wanting to expand knowing what type of items will sell for you, and where. Especially since people's tastes change all the time, and what really will Sell best. But I have learned it takes time, patience and willingness to explore. Even on the down days I usually find it eventually worth the wait.

A wholesaler is one where you would get it for a base price and not jacked up. The supplier would have a jacked up price on it. The wholesaler you would probably have to buy several to get a good price on an item. Good quality comes into question here too. They may send you one or two to check out the quality.
